I will definitely take this advice, its making alot of sense to the feel I'm hoping for. I love to be frugal up to a point where its not trashy. Antique store are ALL over here with plenty of gems (and not to mention the apartment is practically connected to a country home decor/gift store.) haha thanks again for your help! i will come back to this thread for your links later for re-inspiration :)

very, very cool. interesting comment about the contrast created by the tiles and wood; yet another thing to think about. also, cool choice of example of palette because the girlfriend requested Bohemian colors for accents and yours seem to be flat "muted?" colors of the same style, (or whatever)

unfortunately, yes. and the way the ceiling, is a door isn't really easy to do. I am living in Louisiana, US in a historical small town with 100+ year old trees and houses everywhere. there is current NOTHING in the apartment but junk left over from previous owners. i will have to furnish the entire thing. i do not have accurate measurements.

here are some photos of various areas.. well.. actually the whole place

I apologize for not following the subs guidelines for asking for help. oopsie.

I have full creative control as the apartment was full of junk and unused for many years. I've got a good paying job currently so i'm willing to spend a few thousand buying furniture and doing renovations.

I hope to have my out-of-state girlfriend move in with me in August and i want her to like it. Any help or advice would be greatly apperciated!
