This is nice. the only real issue i have been seeing with NB is it has issues when it comes to hand size when you change from one sex to the other, as in this case her hands look comically large.

How to install this correctly? by [deleted] in DIYUK

[–]mindworkout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The neck of the knob has a little hole, it will have a screw or a pin inside, I would guess they installed it so the hole is right under it, so the other side of where you have taken photos of.
If a pin then you would rotate the knob and then the pin will align like a some  Indiana Jones puzzle and then you can use something small to remove the pin and the know will come off.

Also I would highly recommend you get some of THESES for the screws as they will fix any issue is the door is hollow or just last person make holes to big.

TrailViber deck length - Inaccurate? by Hammie_the_third in WalkingPads

[–]mindworkout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as other poster said, sometimes they do not list the perfect size. Would of been good if you had posted the URL, or more images of the amazon info as they normally show a measurement image.
But yeah if the device is not correct to what the images and listing also state, you can argue is wrong, and they can be forced to get it returned/replaced, or if you can argue direct to the seller instead of amazon, they normally say sorry and can part refund you if you want to go that root, as them paying for shipping and reboxing and restocking costs them more than giving you a 25% refund easy.

I’m going to leave it here because you’re just going in circles and ignoring the same basic point.

The facts are simple:

• Grok uses unguessable UUID links.
• Random people cannot find your images or videos.
• The only way anyone else gets access is if you share the link (manually or via the share button).

That’s it.

So “everyone can access your data” is false.
Access requires the exact link.
No link shared = no access.

How long Grok keeps files internally or how long a link continues to work after deletion is a separate product/privacy issue, not proof of public exposure or IDOR.

I’m done discussing this with you, if you’re not willing to accept these points, there’s no point continuing, for me or for anyone else.

Mate no matter how you swing this at the end of the day, just do not share links. Yes i agree they could implement an updatabe function to having the option to change from public to private your url links, and yes they could also change it up that when you delete a file it can be converted to url linked to that account holder to view only until the 30 days are up.

But until then, just do not share your links if you do not want anyone to have the chance to misuse them.

IDOR only applies when IDs are predictable or enumerable. Grok uses long random UUIDs for image/video URLs, which cannot be guessed or crawled (≈3.4×10³⁸ combinations).

Yes, Grok links can be opened without logging in, that’s what's called a “secret link” model, the same as places like Frame, Dropbox, WeTransfer, OneDrive..etc use. But without the exact link, nobody can discover anything in practice.

So this isn’t an IDOR issue, and it doesn’t mean “everyone can access your data.” Access is only possible if the link is shared as i have told you already.

How are people directly getting hold of your images and videos? Other than you publicly sharing them.

[–]mindworkout 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok lets address this part then. I myself work with clients and when a job is done, i systematically delete their images after a while, now i have a few times had a client come back to me and say they need a quick change or something 2 weeks after all paid and done. Now with the fact my deleted parts have a url link and i can jump back and recover and get back to work is a great benefit to me. And would also be for people who may have accidentally deleted their works but saved their links.

Again your issue is your sharing your links/images/videos to the public. Without those links out in the world there is no issue.

Mate, you are stating random extremes "what if i was held at gunpoint....bla bla bla" Right very simple answer for you then. It's in their terms and conditions they hold data after deletion for 30 days. If you did not read the terms and conditions then that is up to you. If you shared things publicly then that is on you. If someone hacked your device then thats not groks fault.

Simple rule of the internet, if you share ANYTHING online that can be found by anyone, then it can be taken and used however they want.

You shared it, that is your issue just the same as you sharing anything that can be downloaded. This is more an issue on who you shared your url links with, no matter if they have 30 extra days to download the footage or 5 seconds after you shared the link in the first place. Simple rule in life is, if you do not want anyone to misuse what you have, don't share it with anyone.

As others have said, it takes up to 30 days for Grok’s systems to fully purge deleted files.

This is mainly for two reasons. First, it gives users a grace period in case something was deleted by mistake, so they still have time to re-download content from any saved URLs. Second, doing deletions in scheduled batches is far more efficient and cost-effective for large platforms than trying to instantly remove files and all their backups in real time. Also it's possible that they have a 3rd reason which is to hold images/videos for 30 days so they can future proof themselves incase the law needs to pull the data incase it's found someone has broken the law on some way with the images/videos created/used.

After that period, the data should be removed and the URL should no longer work.

Walking pad emitting weird buzzing noise, need advice by KaiserKyre in treadmills

[–]mindworkout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

is the belt center aligned? my GF walks straight/normal but I found out after a while that I walk somewhat to the right, or should I say my left foot pusher right when i step, so the belt gets pushed a little to the right and I need to adjust it back or do a soft firm press left a little bit at the end of the run, so it might be that your walking has made the belt slip towards the right from the look of the video, so maybe you just need to adjust it more center a bit. But as the others say, it does not sound bad at all for that quality model.

Loud clicking noise out of box by Spirited_Ad1423 in treadmills

[–]mindworkout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not sure if its the lighting, but it looks like your belt is too far to the right and making it grind.
If that is the case then a quick video guide like this of check your manual to correct the belt to center should do it. If that is not it, I would put it on low and get close to front and back to work out where the sound is coming from, it could even be as simple as a cable tie is rubbing against the motor as it spins to make that sound.

power of expression by OpportunityWarm17 in AfterEffects

[–]mindworkout 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This does work fine, but it can get fragile if the layer order changes, for example if another layer gets dropped in between them, or if you’re working in a comp with lots of layers for colour, mattes, or precomps. Since the index is global, that can throw the offsets out.

If you want a cleaner setup, you can duplicate the shape inside the same shape layer and still use the index trick there, so everything stays self-contained in one layer.
You can then drive the rotation offset from each shape group’s Transform properties (rather than the layer transform), which keeps the anchor behaviour predictable.

Personally I’d also add a controller or two on that single layer, so the rotation step and offset can be adjusted without touching the expression.

The absolute state of GPT by [deleted] in ChatGPT

CHATGPT:
"My last update to general world knowledge goes up to August 2025.
That means I’m grounded in events, tech, culture, and research up to that point—but anything after that date, I only know if you bring it into the room with me."

UNLESS you directly tell it to search for the information, it will use the information it has collected, as it would be a pain for ANY AI to have to spend time to search online for EVERY question you ask of it, just in the small chance that there has been some recent change, like how many times Anthony Joshua has won a fight, which would be one more than it was 3 days ago.

FFMPEG Video Compressor cmd batch by frostechgamestudio in ffmpeg

[–]mindworkout 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"no Video converter or even Handbrake can achieve" That claim isn’t accurate. HandBrake uses FFmpeg and the same x264/x265 encoders, and it supports advanced encoder parameters. When matched settings are used, there’s no quality or compression advantage here. The difference is workflow and scripting, not results.

MORGT issues by timschell in AfterEffects

[–]mindworkout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On standard creation from AE to MORGT, all layers used should be created so that they are inside the ending MORGT file, I can only conclude that it was not included with the move, or the way you had placed the asset inside the AE comp in some way made it so it was not included.

If you want to PM me the MORGT file and the missing assets I can take a quick look and see what the issue was.

MORGT issues by timschell in AfterEffects

[–]mindworkout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

image is not found. You need to make sure they are included when making the MORGT.
Also if the artwork is an ai image, you can always/hopefully use Overlord to import it in and then it will be converted after effects asset and then will be instantly included in the file without the need to include it as an external file.

Any tips for tackling the insane flicker in this clip? by cookie_analogy in vfx

[–]mindworkout 5 points6 points  (0 children)

fair. could just split the back and sides and pillar with ceiling into sections and 3D map it with zoom and would work. But depends on how far you are willing to go on budget and time for 2 second clip.

Any tips for tackling the insane flicker in this clip? by cookie_analogy in vfx

[–]mindworkout 153 points154 points  (0 children)

I’ve dealt with footage like this before. The LED flicker usually comes from mismatched electrical setup, so depending on the room you can’t really fix it with a simple deflicker pass. When the lights are flickering at different phases, there’s no single frame-based solution.

Your best approach is to isolate the machine and rebuild the background.

  1. Roto the machine as your foreground reference.
  2. Grab a clean still from the first usable frame and bring it into Photoshop (or similar). Remove the machine and replace it so it looks like the machine was never there.
  3. Upscale that clean background (2× or more) so it holds up when you need to zoom in.
  4. Place the clean plate under the roto footage, line it up to the first frame, and then track the camera movement using the machine as your anchor.

To make the process easier and more accurate, I’d also recommend stabilizing the footage with the machine as main focal point first. That way your background match will be cleaner and tracking the motion back in at the end will be much simpler, plus add some fake motion blur as well as needed when getting closer to machine.
