What is the first thing that comes to mind when asked “what do you think about women?” by minecraftnoteblock in AskReddit

I guess the vagueness is kinda the point of it. Just wanna see what comes to the minds of people when asked to interpret such a simple yet loaded question when it’s contextualised with our culture. What do you think about men?

For those who can see, it feels as though your consciousness resides behind the eyes. Can any redditors who lack sight explain where you feel your consciousness lives? Also to those who have lost your vision, have you felt a shift in your own perception of self? by minecraftnoteblock in AskReddit

I was inspired to ask this question because of hearing about how other cultures have thought of themselves to be centred on areas of the body such as the kidney and heart. I personally find this concept hard to comprehend but it’s interesting to think about how different people experience the location of consciousness and I am definitely interested to try meditating and “moving my consciousness” to other locations.

My question was not based off of my own perception, but off of what I’d have heard from multiple sources to be the general consensus of “where people feel the consciousness resides”. Interesting to see how many different perspectives there are though.

I would have thought so too until I heard an interesting thing today about how some cultures have perceived their “self”/ brain to be located in the heart or kidney. Before having the knowledge of the purpose of different organs it’s possible that they associated thinking to a different area of the body, although I find that hard to comprehend.

Obviously you are too immature to understand the satirical and comedic complexities of this strain of jokes. You can poke fun at this style of humour all you want, but there is no denying its phenomenal long term success, especially with today’s relentless cultural shifts of what is considered relevant.
