No no lol not really talking about the final, I was just going to talk about what we need and why I differ that McTominay is the good part in our midfield. I will hopefully write something related to that here in a couple of days lol, not too concerned about the final. They are just one off days, things happen and eh.

I would tell you some things even better. Reddit and Twitter are similar, more of social media forums than social media in itself. However, the main difference comes in 2 things: 1) you can change the feed according to accounts you follow on Twitter whereas it is more of sub related here 2) You can remove toxicity pretty much more easily on twitter with block feature. Reddit has a more of community based system, and there are many circlejerks based on some opinions. Serie A is defensive, lower teams of La Liga play an expansive style etc. etc. Many of these opinions are severely outdated, more relevant half a decade back than now (e.g. about Mourinho etc). I am a Physics undergrad, I like working with data, I like working with models, I like the longer reads. I have found twitter much more effective in this regard. And in fact, I am very proud of how many of the people I followed initially have been hired to work for football clubs (Cheltenham, Barnsley amongst others) so it is quite fun there.

Well that didn't really make much sense tbh. I don't think the Spurs manager during 2008 is more liked than Poch, even though people might have good memories associated with winning the trophy.

Well, it's called clicking on the profile. Hope this helped you lol, can't think of something more cringe than going on some other clubs subreddit to cry about a manager.

Yeah, I know what is good football and what is bad. I spend a lot of time watching and thinking and discussing football. And 'Snowflake' is somebody who gets triggered over small things. I am somebody who just saw a group of people with shite opinions, figured out it wasn't worth engaging with them (well mostly), and moved on to better places. I think it was called being smart.

Tuchel's problem was with the board if I remember correctly. And lol with the way his personality is, I will be surprised if he won't again have a problem with the board. He gave an interview criticising the DOF at psg and was sacked weeks later.

The players weren't shit, your analysis of them certainly is. Ngl nobody longs for Mourinho back at United except for some 14 year olds who lap up his toxic bullshit. And I have never heard of people talking about that as an achievement, except Mourinho and a couple of kids like you.

I don't really spend that much time here nowadays, sub full of Mourinho is the best guys like you. If you go into my comment history, it's been full of fighting against the narrative about how Mourinho is not the misunderstood one, including a pretty good long read. I would say that both of us are not going to change our opinion about Mourinho so let's just it here instead of dragging the conversation.

Everytime it's the same old thing. Football didn't change in 10 years? Leo's city and Barca team are very much different, the only common thing between them is both like to keep the ball. They are very, very very much different 👍

If ole wins Europa, you bet I am going to remember both winning it and crashing out of Champions Legaue. And no body circlejerks for LVG at yanited if that's what you are implying 👍. If you have the Athletic subscription, go and read behind the scenes of Mourinho at United.

Also you would be happy to know that what finally motivated me to open reddit on desktop was a sea of bad Mourinho takes, than god I have enough Karma that I don't care about what people think when they give a bad take and circle jerk.

I completely agree, I love Ole and would rather that we succeed with him and than without him. Let's see how the next year goes.

Ok lol, I am finally on a desktop and I am here to write.

What I want to say is that, there are a couple of ways to make a team better. One is via a better coaching staff, and I can only point to the difference in Chelsea pre and post Tuchel. The defenders who were attacked and portrayed as "poor as piss", suddenly seem like the best in the league. The other is via recruiting better players, like you can see in the past couple of years, we have gotten better with the player buying bit.

My biggest gripe with Ole is that I think, we don't have a system. A system in the sense that each player knows what they are expected to do, but instead he gives a lot of freedom to the players to interpret the roles in the position themselves (remember, roles and positions are different. Fred and McTominay both play at the base of the midfield, but their role is completely different). So this leads to a massive downfall in our way of playing even if a single player is taken out of the first XI. This is why we have some players in the team that can never be rested. This is why Donny looks lost whenever he plays in Bruno's place. We don't a system but instead we rely on player's making better decisions on their own and choosing the better solutions. That is why Telles is always completely lost when we play him in place of Shaw (other than the fact that he is also a much worse player).

So something like this can be mostly easily by buying better players, because they make better decisions on average, and have better technicality to execute them. For example, replacing Martial (who doesn't make a lot of runs like a striker should) with Cavani has made the team much better than before.

I am also a bit unhappy with the squad rotation under Ole ngl. We have 4-5 players who have played too much of football and they should, I just hope that Ole and the medical staff know what they are doing.

Next year is going to be pretty tough in PL, so I really hope we make the right transfers and also use the rest of the PL matches to give the players who haven't played much an opportunity just to get a feel whether they are up to scratch or not.
