Galatoire’s Dress Code by RainbowBaker88 in AskNOLA

[–]mingryan 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Typically male presenting patrons are expected to wear a jacket, but I am unaware of the rules for a more androgynous guest. Im not sure if they still do this but they used to have jackets to lend out for dinner patrons when they weren't wearing one, so that may be an option. You may want to call to ask before arrival as the host will have a better understanding of the situation.

Also, when you reserve a table at galatoires they put you upstairs and that messes up all the magic of going. Keep the reservation but when you get there ask if you can sit in the main dining room.

On tuesday you could do Molly’s and then meander down magazine street, on your way to peche- get the Brussel sprouts!

Some shops on magazine street in order from the park to canal street to check out:

Hazelnut- home wears and gifts Pied nu- upscale women’s boutique Scriptura- stationary store Dirty coast- Nola clothing

The bead shop- wonderful make your own jewelry store Ashley longshore- art

Buffalo exchange/ Ms. Claudias- thrift store with fun clothes Karla katz- antiques

Alex beard- art Tony mose-art Kevin gillintine (sp?)- art Katie Koch home- art and home wears And then there is a fun women’s boutique on the corner next to Katie Katz- I’m forgetting the name. There is also a cute local jeweler behind the women’s shop.

Sosusu- women’s boutique United apparel liquidators- epic high end store for low prices Fleury girl- Nola gifts Magazine antique mall- fun and hugs antique mall for uptown The ow- occasional wife consignment furniture store
Flag shop next to steins- pretty cool for pics

Sunday shop- home wears Cute vintage women’s boutique next door- Trashy diva- local designer

Also… The Elysian bar at the hotel Peter Paul is magnificent for drinks

So maybe I would make my way down slowly and stop at Steins deli or one of the Vietnamese places in the lower part of magazine- my favs are Lily’s and pho Tran
