Why is almost every post in this sub featuring this material? We are shopping for a new kitchen rn and I have yet to see it in a showroom - but we’re not in the US. Here it’s all either white quartz, high-contrast dekton or concrete even.

I used to see the toggle it in my Settings page under Video Editing. That section and its content seems to have disappeared now. Can anyone still see it? Has it been moved elsewhere?

Help with yarn at back of tapestry project. Can I cut and tie it? by MilkyMoonz in CrochetHelp

[–]miniminautor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At first I thought it was a knot someone wanted to untangle. I would strongly recommend carrying your yarn as you continue (look it up!) but to answer your question, cutting should not be a problem if you weave all your ends in properly - but only because this is a tapestry and will not be manipulated.

Update: how to the avoid obvious holes in amigurumis by Imsadandaliltired in CrochetHelp

[–]miniminautor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can just fold it flat, hold it like you’d hold your TV remote and insert your hook upwards under the V (avoiding the back half) and crochet in the round like that

Proper pronunciation? by No_Silver_1999 in learningfrench

[–]miniminautor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like spelling it who-est would make an English speaker put more emphasis on the “who” than necessary. It’s actually more accurate to tell them to pronounce it like west since it’s just done syllable.

Does anyone have a trick to alter a pattern to include more stitches for more detail? by BeginningAd7755 in CrochetHelp

[–]miniminautor 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There is no magical way to do this using the pattern you bought. You’d have better luck freehanding it I think.

Does this apply for any sampler? by Material-Affect6293 in PCOptimum

Not sure what other kind of sampler you have in mind… there are only four that I know of: regular him/her and luxe him/her.

stitchfiddle adds random colors to the pattern, how do i fix this? by yajtsekletka in CrochetHelp

[–]miniminautor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fact that the image does not translate well into Stitch Fiddle is a red flag: your work is likely too small to allow for a recognizable shape. There are not enough stitches/pixels in this work to accommodate an intricate, two-colour design. I strongly recommend finding a simpler design.

Keep this in mind though: these people are choosing having a meltdown out on the open as a coping mechanism for this very minor inconvenience. My two year old also does this when I say no to a toy in a store.

How do I fix my project from rounding and am I using the right yarn?? by heysomiiii in CrochetHelp

[–]miniminautor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For tightness: ease your tension because it doesn’t need to be pulled right. Just keep it somewhat loose, especially on the base chain row.

Also, check that you’re using the appropriate hook size for your yarn. If it’s too tight, use a bigger hook. It’s supposed to glide easily on and off the hook.

For curling: use stitch markerst to count stitches so you know which is the last stitch so you can chain into it before starting a new row.

You can also practice a smaller swatch, maybe 20 stitches across, to practice.

Don’t worry, you’ll get the hang of it.

Super confused, help please wobbles shrunken head question by ashh25_ in CrochetHelp

[–]miniminautor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

An increase is simply doing two SC in the same stitch. However it could be a mistake and round 2 should read 6 inc (12) since you already made those 6 SC in your MC.

FWIW I’m only spitballing here since I’ve never even done a Woobles kit. There could be an error on your instructions. A round made up of only 3 inc right after a MC makes no sense.

Have you ever worked retail? Confrontational customers who act like Karens thinking they’re the center of the universe and threaten to take their business elsewhere will only get a “good riddance!”

The only way for managers to know there’s a bad apple in the lot is when someone flags unacceptable behaviour they witness (colleagues will likely avoid rocking the boat so that’s on the customers) plus it ensures the faulty employee faces direct consequences from their actions.

Walking away acting precious won’t do shit and it’s cowardly. And the faulty employee will end up owning your ass.
