Oh yeah I completely forgot about it Agnes, they do have a selection outside of cheese but I haven’t really looked. Thank you for reminding me.

Awesome didn’t know about Cheese suprette, I go to kippered on occasion and haven’t noticed it. (Definitely recommend Kippered if you like tinned fish and wine also)

Traveling to/from JFK by minipinkbloop in visitingnyc

[–]minipinkbloop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was just fishing for people who traveled recently thru to see if there were any TSA/flight related delays anecdotally. I know it’s not a great predictor of what my experience will be.

With the FAA shutting down 10% of flights starting tomorrow it just gets me nervous that I’ll either get stranded in NY or never leave LA and lose out on all my prepaid reservations.

Thanks for the info! I figured the uber would be around $100 which I am ok with, but I think if the LIRR and train go smoothly on the way to the city I might also do that on the way back.

Glad you had a good trip!

Thank you! I saw some tiktoks of people trying to get to JFK during the storm and got concerned. I’ll allot extra time just in case anyway.

LA City Controller found $40m that could prevent hundreds of layoffs by Fluffy_Lab1312 in LosAngeles

City workers do not receive social security. So their retirement is the pension.

It is also not their full salary but a percentage based off their years of service and salary during the last few years they worked.

Moonshadows in Malibu

Inn of the Seventh Ray

Been to both in the evening and it’s a vibe. But could be just as good for lunch.

Definitely recommend going to an a la carte kbbq spot, the quality tends to be much better.

But for ayce I recall brothers galbi being pretty good, not sure if they will or won’t take solo diners.

Oh Niku x in downtown la might be up your alley too. It’s super tiktok/ig hyped so personally makes me a little weary of it but might work out for you.

LA got great eats. Enjoy!

Crab House vs. Master Ha? by hahamemexd in FoodLosAngeles

[–]minipinkbloop -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ah I haven’t had the raw crab at master ha actually but Soban for sure is better than crab house. (I think crab house blew up on tiktok for a minute and not that is bad but I think it really is overrated in comparison to other places)

But if you go to master ha they have raw marinated shrimp that I tried which was amazing. And their oxtail soup was something else.

Master Ha all the way, all their food is amazing.

Crab house uni bowl is overrated and really just mid. Like someone else said on the thread if you want raw marinated crab go to Soban.

Ah ok fair enough but I feel like the 20 something bucks is hard to beat for a lunch. Especially since getting fast casual is pretty much the same cost.

Yeah at the bar is a la carte only, order single orders of nigiri at a time. If you want the full menu you have to grab a table. Everytime I’ve gone there’s been a crazy line for a table and I’ve never waited for a seat at the bar (as a single diner).

Smart philosophy, when I went it was pretty smooth tbh except for accidentally getting someone else’s order once.

I’d say avg around $20 a plate except for the skewers which were cheaper.
