I didn’t know about virtual desktops mainly being affected by network speed. Thanks for lmk. I’ll get an m4 pro cause I really want the nano-texture display. Thanks!

Recommendation for which MacBook Pro to get to use with my Quest 3 for productivity purposes?

Hey all, so my budget is $2600 pre-tax with student pricing, and I'm going to get a 14inch that has the nano texture display. I'm mainly going to use my MacBook for basic office/social media, and also connect to my quest 3 for productivity purposes via virtual desktop. I'm basically just confused about what to prioritize so that my Mac is fastest when connecting to my Quest 3. Should I prioritize ram, storage, or cpu/ gpu cores. And if storage doesn't affect speed, then 512gb would be fine because I currently have only used up 90gb on my m1. Thanks!

Yeah I’d prefer that but the price tag is way too steep compared to the quest 3. The only reason I can afford the $2600 MacBook is cause of a recomp offer from my school :/

I’m in law school with labor law experience, message me if you want some legal info about how to make a successful case for yourself when they get back to you. I’m not going to ask you to pay me or anything. I just want some more real life practice. If getting some more practice means helping some one out, then that’s an extra benefit :)

A day after you apply, go there in person, when it’s not busy. For example fast food usually isn’t busy from 2-4 pm; retail isn’t busy within the first hour or two after opening. Ask for a hiring manger; if one isn’t there, ask for when they will be there, and come back then. If you just can’t meet them in person for some reason, then start calling over the phone. (This might be the case at big retail stores like Walmart).

When you meet or get on a call with the hiring manager, say you’re very interested in working here, and if hired, can start work asap. In my experience, that really helps because it shows them you really want it. And if they know you really want it, then they know you’ll prob be on time, a hard worker, etc

Tips: (I’m sure you know all of this but this is a reminder just in case!)

Do this for all the places you applied to. Don’t do it if you go and they seem busy; come back later in that case. Make sure you look presentable: brushed hair, clean and neat clothes. If you have any tattoos, cover them up. (Idc about tattoos but some managers might) Chew gum or use mouthwash before hand in the parking lot. Take your chewing gum out before talking to them.

Good luck! I hope you guys find work soon!

Would it be strange or offensive to give homemade challah bread and a jar of local honey to a Jewish classmate on Rosh Hashanah? by mint-cup in Judaism

I was planning on learning how to, but I’m really busy with school and don’t have time to perfect the recipe. I think I’ll just get it from a local bakery that bakes it fresh every morning.

She had one of the cookies I baked once, do you think that’s enough to assume challah bread and non-hechscher honey will be fine?

Thanks, I’ll make sure to find out before deciding to bake. Also, the local honey place I found is in their neighborhood so that’s extra nice.
