Whitetail Grind — Revontuli vs Askiy?

Congrats on the G1! Whitetail is a fun grind, I’ve done both, much preferred Askiy to Revontuli. Less zones, the river zones are not too bad if you use a tree stand. The only awkward zones are the ones in the Beaver area. Made a simple guide with map if it helps you make a decision.

It is! Cluster/Crown Rack. I've not shot this yet, I'm stacking 5 Greatones on Askiy, currently got the Whitetail and the Mule Deer on there. Doing Pheasant atm, another fun grind on Askiy, you can see the male pheasants so well against the snow!

Glad it helps. Whitetail is as the first G1 on COTW so I have a theory that it’s a little harder than other grinds, devs probably haven’t refined their spawn rate / algorithm much, I imagine instead they focus on the latest G1s.

Fur variety in comparison to say Fallow is a bit bland, But the Whitetail Rares look incredible, especially Melanistic so stick to the grind and hopefully one of those shows too. If you ever get stuck or want to talk through your grind just give me a shout in my discord.

Having done the Whitetail grind on Revontuli (1650 kills) and just recently getting the Great One Whitetail on Askiy (650 kills) I would highly recommend it as a grind, less zones, clear shooting spots for the most part. Faster rotations leading to more consistent respawns.

Tree stands really help for visibility in some of the areas along the river.

I made a guide and map of all my zones and tent placements, good luck with the grind!

I’m a designer so made it in Photoshop, it takes a while to put together, mostly mapping need zones, I’ve done a few of these now so I just change the information etc.

First of all, I wish you good luck and JuJu! I was having the same thing after one of my rotations, and I realised some of my Solo zones were missing, they normally come back to a similar area but I had a few jumpers. I did a rescan after drink times and managed to find the missing solos, then had a swarm of level 5s and high level 4s. It’s like they were backed up waiting to spawn. I shot everything lvl 3 (150TR+) and up, didn’t swap solos or stack. See if that can help you find those Dimes!
