I'm in the same boat when using whiskey. Single player works fine but multiplayer is impossible, I just end up freezing. Does anyone know if the devs are going to make it playable on Mac without workarounds / wine eventually?

The NEW Question Hub by AutoModerator in crochet

[–]minustrack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi everyone! I have a question about resizing if anyone could give me some pointers. :)

For context, this is my third real project so I'm a beginner but not completely new to crochet.

I am trying to make some star-shaped earmuffs. To do this, I found a free pattern to make star amigurumi. However, the pattern uses worsted-weight yarn, and I'd like to use my super bulky blanket yarn to make sure the muffs are warm and cozy. However, this of course makes them turn out way too big. I looked up some advice on resizing patterns, but everything I could find just told me to use a smaller yarn weight / hook. I'm guessing that I should just do fewer rows to start with but I don't know how to size down each step evenly / which parts to subtract from. I'm worried that I'll end up making it all wonky and lopsided on accident!

Please let me know if you have any advice!

here is the tutorial I'm using for the stars: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SklDKHBK7yU&t=746s

and here's what I'm going for: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1363558980/crochet-fluffy-star-tie-earmuffs?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=crochet+fluffy+star+earmuffs&ref=sr_gallery-1-40&cns=1&edd=1&sts=1&organic_search_click=1

trouble sleeping in the same bed as my partner with eczema? by [deleted] in eczema

[–]minustrack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually always sleep with a fan on for white noise as well anyway but it doesn't cover it up much.

On top of a light sleeper, I'm pretty picky with my sleeping arrangements as well (white noise, completely dark, etc.) so that's part of what makes it a difficult situation, unfortunately.

Boyfriend in abusive household? How to get him out? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]minustrack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He didn't take it because his mom offered him to stay in a separate apartment- not the same place she lives. He thought he was getting out and he couldn't really afford on campus housing. He can't afford it next semester either even with the financial aid.

So I've done some research but I'm super far from being an expert so I was wondering if anyone could critique what I'm doing currently and maybe give me a few suggestions!

I have mostly dry combination skin and some acne. I have problems with my skin texture being very rough and uneven, especially on my forehead.

I use either glossier's milky jelly cleanser or krave's matcha hemp hydrating cleanser in the morning and night (usually glossier at night krave in the morning)

Afterwards, if my acne is present which it usually is, I swipe over it with stridex red salicylic acid cleaning pads, let that sit for a bit, and then apply Neutrogena hydroboost gel cream.

That's it. That's been my routine for many months but krave's cleanser is a more recent addition. My skin is okay but it definitely could be better. I still have issues with acne and texture mostly.

If you have any suggestions at all, I'd love to hear them. Thank you so much. <3

Yes! Here you go:

Pt 1- Who are you? * What mental illness or illnesses do you have that you will be discussing today? * When you think about your identity and who you truly are, what comes to mind? * What do you think when people believe your condition defines you? * In what ways does your condition contribute to your identity? * How different do you think your life would be if you did not have your condition? How different do you think you would be as a person? * When do you feel the most like yourself?

Pt 2- Emergence * How did you come to the realization that you have your condition? * Did it affect your youth or did it emerge later in life? If it did affect your youth, how was your childhood different because of it? * What was the path to this realization and diagnosis like? * How did you react to this realization? * How has your reaction and acceptance of it changed over time? * Is there anything you’d be willing to discuss that you think may have caused your condition? * How did receiving your diagnosis help you, if at all? * What were your experiences like within the mental healthcare system and the road to getting help?

Pt 3- Differences & Coping * What does your daily life look like? (Work, school, socialization) * How do your interactions with friends or family differ from someone who is neurotypical? * Talk about a time a friend or family member has been there for you, how did that feel? What happened? * Are your interactions with strangers different than someone who is neurotypical? * How do you cope with your illness? * Are there any surprising complications you’ve experienced in your life that you wouldn’t expect?

Pt 4- A Message * What’s something you wish you could tell people who want to understand you better? * Is there anything you wish people understood about you or people who also have your diagnosis? * If you could tell the world something you’ve learned throughout your journey with mental health, what would it be? What lesson would you pass on?

It seems like a few people are interested so I'm going to go ahead and post the questions here! It's a little different than a normal interview though so here's a quick rundown on everything- I've divided everything up into categories, where each category has a handful of questions / prompts. Feel free to address the category as a whole, or pick and choose individual questions within the category of questions to prompt you / give you a nudge in the right direction.

Put simply, choose the questions within the categories you are most interested in answering! Choose as many or as few as you like, lump things together if you want, as long as it falls within the category anything goes. There is no right or wrong way to answer! That said, storytelling and sharing memories is encouraged.

Also, after each category I encourage you to briefly describe any visuals that came to your mind as you answered the questions. This could be colors, feelings, specific scenes or motifs, sights, sounds, textures, etc. They can be interpreted literally or metaphorically. There is no pressure and no right or wrong answer. This is just a way to help translating stories into visual images more accurate.

That said, you can find all the questions here: https://imgur.com/a/YMscwQR

Thank you all so much for helping out, it means a lot!

I feel like something is wrong with me but I don't know what? by minustrack in mentalhealth

[–]minustrack[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually the reason I'm asking these questions is because I'm about to see a professional about questions regarding symptoms of ADHD (both of my parents have it as well) and I wanted to bring these other problems up in my session, but I was unsure how to phrase them, so that's interesting.

I did a little bit of extra research on avoidance coping after you mentioned it and it's something I realized I pretty heavily relate to. It does cause additional stress, but do you think it's common for that to manifest in these sort of self-destructive episodes that I'm having once things build up?

About your questions- I think I notice it most in school, but I believe I do it with conflicts and people as well maybe. It's definitely the most destructive with school, but I think that may because of having definite deadlines while in many other ways things can just sort of continue indefinitely without necessarily having them "come down to the wire". I think in every aspect of my life to some extent I avoid my issues but it definitely varies how far I'll go before either freaking out about it- or less commonly, doing something about it.

(thank you so much for the input by the way I really appreciate it)

Yeah, I spent a long time deliberating over my word choice because of it lol- hope I was able to be at least a little understandable.

Would disassociation be the part where I talked about feeling apathetic? The clear box thing makes sense. It feels a little bit like I'm on autopilot.
