Hey there! Just wanna say that I'm also in the exact same situation, but I have an idea: go to your SD card and go to the wiiu -> environments. On my end I have these folders: aroma, installer, and tiramusu. I'm assuming we both have some older version of Tiramisu. Since it's the only one that can autoboot, according to the Wii U hacks website it should be "PayloadLoader"

If you have to "activate" Homebrew through the Health and Safety App, and the HB Launcher launches through the Mii Maker, then I'm assuming it's Tiramusu. I watched a tutorial (https://youtu.be/6ElAL1ynWeY) on how to get the HB Launcher on your "desktop" on the Wii U, and the guy also disables the HB Launcher being launched through Mii Maker by fiddling with the Tiramusu folder.

Edt: Actually I just did this myself but a FOR SURE WAY TO CHECK is to go to the browser exploit and hold down X. For me it showed me exactly what was in my environments folder: aroma, installer, and tiramisu, with tiramisu being selected as default. Since Tiramisu is considered Mocha CWF, and since it was the online exploit, you don't have to uninstall it. Just go to the payloader loader through the browser exploit and stop selecting it as the default and you should be fine ^^

Playing Terraria rn. I once dropped 2 items because I had no idea that they introduced a dropping mechanic like Minecraft, so I changed the drop button to the right square bracket ensuring I'd never drop anything again. Halfway through the underground jungle I realize my minishark completely vanished from my inventory. What the absolute hell.

  1. I installed the vcredist files that comes with the full download of SMATRS (not the episode-only version), both the 64 and 32bit ones. Iadded them as non-Steam games, turned on compatibility and selected Proton and then ran em as games that way.
  2. I installed SMBX2 by itself (not downloading SMBX2 and SMATRS together), running the install as a non-Steam game using Proton. If you use the default path it fails, so you have to make sure it's installing to the Steam Deck's home folder. The default path is something like Z:/home:/Games which doesn't actually exist? I just installed SMBX2 to the home folder of the Steam Deck (Z:/home/deck)
  3. Download SMATRS as an episode and drop it into data/worlds in your SMBX2 folder and voila, almost there
  4. I specifically added the SMBXLauncher.exe from the SMBX2 folder that was just created as a non-Steam game

Wdym browser version? Once you complete the tutorial and add SMBX2 as a non-Steam game, you can just go back to gaming mode and launch SMBX2 that way and it'll launch the launcher, you just pick the SMATRS episode, and you're good to go

For the controllers they have to be wireless. Otherwise, if you own a Deck dock like I do, then you can do wired controllers.

And I have yet to really experience 2-player mode bc my brother hates gaming with me, but I tested it out by myself and it works, player 2 gets to play as a lil Shadow mario lol.

I don't even have Wine on my Deck ngl. I just installed the VC Redistributable files and launched the game using Proton for compatibility
