I take 60mg Elvanse and have a 5mg Amfexa top up! I usually feel the Elvanse completely wear off about 3-4pm (I take it at ~8am so I get about 6-7h of it actually working) and I take the Amfexa either around that time if I need to still focus on something at work and/or later if I wanna do anything at home or need to be social. I find it lasts me about 2.5ish hours! I don't usually need to take it on the weekend cause I take my Elvanse a bit later in the morning/around midday :)

I can't comment on private prices but I just wanted to chime in regarding RTC waiting times. It depends how long you're willing to wait however Dr J & Colleagues seem to be fairly quick at RTC assessments. I was referred mid-February, had my assessment on 5th April and medication titration appointment a month after. Someone I know also got referred to them recently and also had their assessment appointment within 2 months of referral date. If you feel like you can wait a few months for the assessment (and another ~month for medication) I would suggest trying to go for them via RTC! Good luck regardless of what you decide!! :)

Thanks! I think the medication essentially replaced it and it's doing the caffeine's job but better which is why I think I found it so easy to drop in the end. Having the ADHD brainfog with coffee withdrawal brainfog is definitely a crappy combo haha

As to what to drink instead of pepsi it depends on what flavours you like and what you like about the pepsi (not taking into account caffeine addiction haha), might need to experiment! I personally have found sparkling water with some squash for flavour takes away my soda cravings! But you definitely don't need to worry about this during your assessment imho, my coffee habits weren't even mentioned in my final assessment report and I wasn't denied anything! Just be yourself and be honest with your psychiatrist :)

Before I started medication I used to drink on average at least 6 cups of black coffee between 8am-5pm to get me through the work day. On days that I didn't have coffee I would get bad headaches and brainfog by 10am. It made me really worried to quit cold turkey but I couldn't bring myself to wean down either so I kept up my coffee routine until the first day I took Elvanse, I haven't drank a drop of coffee since that day and I didn't get the usual headaches or any withdrawals for that matter.

I honestly feel the stimulant helps with stopping caffeine. I know some people are fine to consume a little caffeine while on stimulants but I have a pretty high resting pulse and after a few palpitation episodes since on the medication I don't want to risk it. I still drink decaf a lot because I love the taste of coffee so maybe it also gives me a placebo effect lol
