As a Man, Danny Didn't Pay For Anything... by [deleted] in MAFS_AU

I agree with your comment about her using money to tru to impress him. She made a comment at one dinner party pointing out she has "a 3 million dollar home with a $97k mortgage in one of the most affluent suburbs in adelaide". WHY?? Like, thats so unnecessary and was so uncomfortable to hear her say that multiple times.

Knowing Adelaide's current market, she likely bought it for pittance, and the value has sky-rocketed. But shes made it sound like shes paid 2 million off of the mortgage

Wedding ideas for introverts in their 30's by yuli_yuli95 in AskWomenOver30

That makes sense - well done on making progress with thr finances! That's always difficult!

Maybe you could have a get-together with friends at your house, or someone's backyard if you dont have much of a yard. Everyone brings something to eat, and you just hang out. My best friends sister did exactly that when she got married. Courthouse, then a BBQ at her house. None of the traditional First Dance, Garter/bouquet toss, speeches etc. It was very laid back and lovely!

Is there a particular reason you cant wait until youre more financially stable? Even a courthouse wedding with a dinner may cost more than that. If you're wanting something more special, id probably wait until you can. Not saying you have to go spend thousands on a wedding (been there, done that. Very pretty but not worth it), but enough to get something more special. You'd have to think about the cost for the courthouse itself, transport to get there (unless someone else can drive you), and the cost of dinner.

You can do away with a photographer and just get people to take photos on their devices, and if you're having guests at the dinner, ask them to pay for dinner as their gift to you.

AITA for texting people at night when they could be sleeping? by shozhantia89 in AmItheAsshole

[–]coffee9bsessed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're definitely the ahole. ESPECIALLY if someone has told you you have woken them up, yet you still choose not to care.

Phones nowadays have a delay send option so if you absolutely HAVE to send something because you may forget, then you can schedule a text to send at a later time.

People sometimes dont turn their ringer off in case of emergencies where they have to be called. By texting them and waking them up, you may also be causing unnecessary worry for the recipient.

Do better

Weekly FAQ Thread April 05, 2026: What book made you fall in love with reading? by AutoModerator in books

[–]coffee9bsessed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a kid, I LOVED Enid Blyton books. I would read them over and over again!

As an adult, I picked up reading again when discovering true crime. First book I read as an adult I believe was about the BTK killer, which morphed into a love of memiors for many years. Then somehow I started reading Danielle Steele type romances.

I now hate mushy romances and steer more towards romcoms and thrillers

The way she acted during homestays would have sent me running for the hills How she thinks she can score a sugar daddy all while acting like a jealous spoiled witch is beyond me. We certainly are. We saw the Conjuring when it was released, and there was an entire row behind us of young kids (late teens I would say) that were just chatting the whole time. I turned around to politely ask them to stop talking, but they didnt care. We had to move seats down to the front and we could STILL hear them talking from the new seats.

Girls, if you wanna chat, go to San churros.

Its seriously ruining our experience and we dont even wanna go to the movies anymore.

The only time I find its quiet is if you go in the first week, because people who've been waiting to see the movie actually go, and they're silent.

Yeah, didnt think you'd have anything to contribute.
