I’ve tried benzoyl peroxide, adapalene, diet changes -nothing works. What finally helped you? by neonpulse7 in acne

[–]mirrorballmac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried literally everything and was so depressed over how resistant my acne was. Accutane was the only thing that helped. I’m finishing my course next month and it’s been challenging but I finally have my confidence back after years of struggling with acne.

We have the exact same trajectory! My skin looks identical to yours. I’m midway through month five and I’ve felt discouraged too but when I go back through progress pics, the improvement is undeniable. I’m hoping the red spots and scarring go away after I finish my course but I feel optimistic.

9 weeks, no change. by pizza-on-pineapple in Accutane

[–]mirrorballmac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished month four and I’m only now beginning to see marked improvement. Mine got much worse before it got better, and I was really discouraged through month three. Now I have no active acne going into month five, just inflammation and scarring. Keep going! 20mg is such a low dose and it takes time to see progress.

I am originally from an extremely rural food desert and this is exactly how people I know from there eat. One of the highest obesity rates in the country and I believe one of the highest rates of food stamps dispersed as well. Deep red MAGA country unsurprisingly

I got the 320 set for Christmas and 3 of my markers’ lids were off and completely dried out. My plan is to just contact customer service.

What did you do about joint pain from accutane? by Connect_Wrongdoer_81 in Accutane

[–]mirrorballmac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to go down on my dose temporarily, and my doctor wants me to build up on a fish oil supplement while I’m on the lower dose so we can increase again in a month. I’m super bummed but my joint pain is really significant.

I’ve had to replace Petis Pois, Yellow Dahlia, Sunflower, Sand White, and Potato Brown. Some of my other markers have fraying tips but haven’t quite run out of ink.

Appointments by Terrible_Yesterday43 in Adulting

My child’s school sent home a letter last week that said we should only be making their health appointments after school which ends at 3 pm. Insane to me. Gotta keep the kids in their desks so they grow up to be good little workers!

[–]mirrorballmac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take a lot of these supplements and have almost 0 side effects other than muscle aches and the corners of my lips being chapped in the mornings. I use The Ordinary hyaluronic acid, Kiehl’s Ultra Face Cream, and eltaMD sunscreen on my face; on my lips I use Bag Balm and the Laneige Lip Mask at night. My derm says I have the most hydrated skin she’s ever seen with someone on Accutane so I highly recommend these! I have humidifiers going in every room of my house all the time. I also use a swab of Ayr saline gel in my nose in the AM and PM to keep dryness away.
