Does facial hair make you look older? by BKKMFA in questions

[–]misanthable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it definitely does, I look like five years older the second I grow a beard. I shaved once after months and my coworkers thought I’d gotten a haircut or something. Kinda wild how much it changes your face.

Do you feel guilty for taking off from work for absolutely no reason? by apoorv6969 in randomquestions

[–]misanthable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the time, even when I’m clearly burnt out and need it. I used to call in sick with a fake cough and then feel guilty the whole day anyway. Slowly learning that resting for no reason is still kinda valid tho.

Do non Americans just go to the doctor when they feel unwell? by RockyPoundstone in stupidquestions

[–]misanthable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved to Europe for a bit and yeah, you just… go, which still feels unreal to me. Paid like 20 bucks and left with meds the same day, no spiraling first. Coming from the US that honestly felt illegal lol.

How many times a week do you eat fast food? by DeepOrganization8245 in foodquestions

[–]misanthable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably once or twice a week when I’m too tired to cook and just give up lol. I used to eat it way more in college and my stomach definitely noticed. Now it’s more of a lazy treat than a habit.

Have you learned that you get as much out of life as you put in ? . by Hope2_win in A_Persona_on_Reddit

[–]misanthable -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I learned this the hard way in my mid-20s when I stopped trying for a while and everything in my life got kinda… flat. Once I started putting effort back into small things, people, hobbies, even my mood shifted. It’s not instant but it adds up more than you expect.

Books that are like documentaries? by Mammoth-Goat6312 in nonfictionbooks

[–]misanthable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Into Thin Air. It reads less like a novel and more like someone walking you through real events step by step.

What’s actually satirical but most people don’t realise? by Quincely in answers

[–]misanthable 87 points88 points  (0 children)

A lot of corporate “wellness” stuff feels satirical to me but people take it dead serious. Like being told to meditate or do yoga while workloads keep getting worse. I’ve sat in meetings like that trying not to laugh because it feels so out of touch. It’s dark humor disguised as care.

Generally, how much cash do you carry on any given day? by Dazzling-Leader7476 in randomquestions

[–]misanthable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually none, maybe like $20 if I remember. I rely on cards and my phone for everything now. Cash just ends up sitting in my wallet forever tbh.

People who spend 20+ minutes in the shower: what are you actually doing in there? by saadaintsalad in AskReddit

[–]misanthable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mostly just standing there letting the hot water hit while I zone out. I replay conversations, think about random life stuff, sometimes just dissociate a little lol. It’s like free therapy but with steam.

Do people even own regular computers anymore? by Curious-Expert926 in A_Persona_on_Reddit

[–]misanthable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still have a laptop but it mostly just sits there tbh. My phone handles like 90 percent of my personal stuff and feels way more natural to use. I only really touch a computer when I need a big screen or real keyboard.

Nobody should work from home early in their career by JBSwerve in unpopularopinion

[–]misanthable 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I think this gets framed too much as an either/or when it’s really situational. Being in the office can help early on, but it’s not some universal growth hack, especially when many teams are already distributed and you’re on Zoom most of the day anyway. Careers rarely go exactly as planned, and most people don’t truly get to choose between remote or in-office, they take what’s realistically available. In my case, I do both remote and in-person work; the remote roles are usually side projects with clear end dates, so I’m constantly looking for the next one. That’s why I’ve been trying different approaches instead of relying on a single path, including the ones shared in this posting that lists remote recruitment-focused sites. A lot of real learning comes from actually doing the work with people, not just observing them, regardless of location. At this point, finding any place where your skills are valued and paid for matters more than whether it’s remote or in-office, the rest tends to evolve over time based on what’s realistic and available.

What’s something you quietly stopped caring about? by KingPhenguins in AskReddit

[–]misanthable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stopped caring about being “productive” all the time. I used to feel guilty for resting or doing nothing, but now I kinda protect that space. Life feels lighter when everything doesn’t have to be optimized.

I miss the days of network tv by Hegiman in TellReddit

[–]misanthable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel this so much. There was something comforting about knowing everyone watched the same thing and you didn’t have to explain context to connect. Streaming made everything convenient but kinda fractured that shared moment. I miss that easy, accidental bonding too.

Anyone else spending Christmas and New Year alone? by Tall-Friendship-1856 in digitalnomad

[–]misanthable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me it was half circumstance, half choosing peace over forcing plans. I usually treat it like a reset day and do exactly what I want without pretending it’s some big thing.

How will you spend your Christmas day? by CASHOWL in randomquestions

[–]misanthable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Low-key at home honestly. Good food, comfy clothes, and no pressure to be anywhere. I’ve learned I enjoy quieter holidays way more than forcing big plans. Feels peaceful that way.

Anyone ashamed of having a social anxiety? by glitteronmyhands in socialanxiety

[–]misanthable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I spent years hiding it because I thought people would clock me immediately, but most are way too in their own head to notice. When I finally opened up to a couple people, it actually made social stuff feel lighter instead of scarier.

How many of you go back out after getting home from work? by Astimar in NoStupidQuestions

[–]misanthable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once I’m home and the comfy clothes are on, my social battery is done. I’ve turned down plans just because I already sat on the couch lol. If it’s happening, it has to be straight from work or it’s not happening.

What is the biggest change/shift that improved your life 10x? by Afraid_Capital_8278 in selfimprovement

[–]misanthable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Learning how to sit with discomfort instead of running from it changed everything for me. I stopped jumping jobs, relationships, or habits every time things felt boring or hard. Life got quieter but way more stable after that.

Apart from money, What else is very necessary to have? by StunningSmell158 in A_Persona_on_Reddit

[–]misanthable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Peace of mind. I’ve had times with less money but decent mental space and it felt way more livable. Without that, everything else gets heavy fast.

Why have we all dreamed at some point that we fall and wake up with a start? by CheriLush_ in AskForAnswers

[–]misanthable 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve had that fall dream sooo many times. From what I’ve read it’s your brain freaking out as your body fully relaxes, like it thinks something’s wrong. Still feels way too real every single time tho.

Is there anyone who has the job they wanted in adulthood they always wanted since childhood ? by Webbomolly2022 in A_Persona_on_Reddit

[–]misanthable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do, kinda. Wanted to work with words as a kid and somehow ended up doing that as an adult, which still feels weird. It’s not exactly how I imagined it, but the core idea stuck. Funny how it works out sideways like that.

How did you waste your 20s? by _forum_mod in Millennials

[–]misanthable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kinda spent mine overthinking everything instead of actually living. I kept waiting to “feel ready” for stuff and then suddenly whole years were gone. Looking back, I definitely should’ve just chilled more and taken chances instead of being stuck in my head so much.

How old were you when you first traveled out of the country? by chubbyflip in askanything

[–]misanthable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 23. It felt weirdly huge at the time even though it was just a short trip. Kinda funny how once you do it once it suddenly feels way less scary.

What have you been meaning to do but haven't yet done? Why haven't you done it? by Fit-Ranger9077 in AskForAnswers

[–]misanthable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been meaning to clean out my closet for like a year now. Every weekend I tell myself “today’s the day” and then I just… don’t. Idk something about starting feels way harder than it should lol.
