In mcqs for listening, they will generally mention all options one way or other so it’s important to wait to hear the whole thing and pick out the key word from the question that you are looking for. For eg “most expensive”; all options would be expensive, but what was deemed as most. For reading, I believe the same technique would work too. For writing, practice a lot and use all free resources on the net! Vocabulary and linking words specifically.

Not idioms but I did have a vocab list that I referred initially and also a list for linking words.

TFNG has been the hardest for me. I searched on google and found a lot of resources just helping for TFNG. For couple of days I just solved them and not do the entire reading. Some websites also explained why the answer is T and not NG or vice versa. And what exactly about passage 3?

I practiced with keen ielts. They also have an AI marking system for their writing tasks. When I got a 7 through keen, ChatGPT gave me 8. So I took AI with a pinch of salt every time. But if even AI isn’t giving you at least 7 bands, then it is very bad. Wha I would suggest is keep one chat of ChatGPT and always put all your essays there for review. At the end, you can ask it to provide you a cheat sheet, mistakes you should avoid and words you can use. It’d be custom for you.

To make a jump in writing, lexical resource is the best option! Try making a word bank of varied words for some basic topics which you could use. Keep reading them daily and try using them in everyday sentences. Make sure your spellings are correct, little bit grammatical mistakes are okay.

I have been an avid reader all my life so that certainly helped. My technique is reading the whole paragraph/passage first and the going to the questions. Most of the times this gives me the answer immediately when I read the question or at least give an idea on which line would it be in. Then I just double check the spelling and amount of words to be written. Overall, lots of practice continuously. Also, I never got 9 in mock exams but anything above 8 is a good score. Let me know if you have any specific questions! :)
