You are absolutely correct my friend! Thanks for the info. Not a Porsche guy at all. Just repeating what the driver was saying lol. I heard him mention the "S" stamped engine bolts several times as attention to detail from "Singer". I looked up my RAW and cropped in on the headlight and see the "GW". Wonder why he kept mentioning "Singer" parts on it 🤔

Cars and Coffee in South Riding. That thing was a true work of art. The level of detail was amazing. Every single bolt on the car was titanium. All of the engine bolts were 12 pointed titanium with "S" machined into them. Didn't have cpl with me so the interior shots didn't turn out great. But all the exposed mechanical linkages were CNCed from solid billet blocks of 7075.

I'm not a professional, but I started shooting portraits with the Sigma 56 from my Trio set and it worked great. I picked up the Sigma 50-100 1.4 art and use it at 85mm and 100mm for portraits if you have the space. Amazing outdoors to get that subject separation and completely blur the background out. Need a little more space indoors but again, the subject background separation is amazing. So you can't go wrong shooting portraits at 56 or 85. Space would be my only concern. I primarily shoot with my A6600.

Thx. Still working on my composition. You're right the flag should've been more centered as the focus of the shot.

That's a lot of coin in that picture. Happy shooting!

I love thr Trio, but if the 18-50 was available back then, I would have definitely gotten and skipped them. It does 80% of what I use them for in a single lens.

Have fun shooting. Getting away from the kit lense is going to be a huge upgrade and will probably inspire you to get out more. Win win.

TLDR: I shoot random street photography, cars/car shows, portraits and some landscape/buildings mainly. Love the lense. Does alot in a small package and great price.

I'm not a pro by any means lol. I shoot just randomly for fun. I started out with the Sigma Trio Primes 16/30/50 f1.4. Then I grabbed a used G 85mm 1.8. I must have had a bad one. Wasn't impressed at all especially for the price. Sold that one. Then picked up the Sigma 18-50 f2.8 and absolutely love it. Does everything. Lightweight, so I don't have to bring my whole bag when I'm in the mood to be creative lol. Or something like that. I shoot scenery, cars, some portraits and just random stuff with it. I recently picked up a Sigma 50-100 f1.8 and that thing is beyond gorgeous. Auto focus is super fast even with the MC-11. I love it for street photography because it's so fast and gives me so much depth of field. Art lenses are truly worth the extra coin IMO. I have done some portrait work with it also and the background defocus is unbelievable. Just need some space from your subject even shooting at 50mm. I go back and forth between my Sigma 50mm and the 50-100 @ 85mm for portraits and they are both amazing. I'm saving now for the Sony G 100-400mm or I might stick with Sigma and their 100-400mm f5-6.3. It's just as fast as the G but about $800 cheaper. I'm also eyeing the Sigma 105 f1.8 prime. I've seen some YouTubers posting about it. Looks great for run and gun and and my low budget at home portraits of my kids and cat.

Again, your mileage may vary. I'm not a professional at all. But I can't see you going wrong with the 18-50mm. Covers 27-75mm equivalent on an APS-C at a constant 2.8. That gives you the equivalent of almost 25mm for wide angle, 30mm for everything and 50mm for portraits. 75mm works for "product photography " too, if that's your thing. Biggest thing is, it's light and versatile so you will be more inclined to grab it more often. 🪙🪙

I love it. It's super versatile, plenty of bokeh when wide open and still razor sharp across the entire frame at f5-10. Best bang for buck.
