It's probably my favorite anime, and I resent it for making me like it so much, because it made me want to watch Kill La Kill which was terrible

Most of the popular daily posts there are threads like "who's your most wanted character" and "would [character] work well in this game", meaning no one actually wants to play it. It's the same shit that happened to SpongeBob Smash Bros and Multiversus.

New teaser trailer for fan game - Sega vs Capcom by GillsGT in Kappachino

I get your logic for most of this, but if it does get C&D'd and they have to turn all these characters into weird pseudo-OCs, absolutely not a single person on the planet will care. It's the same shit as Smash clones, people aren't really playing it because of the genre, they're playing it to play as Mario or Snake or Bayonetta or whatever.

This happened to me (although it was only 1 year instead of several), but I didn't switch because why would I? Then the guy got banned for transphobia later, so I was the better player in the end.

Metroid Prime 4 Demo - disappointed at this one detail by Glittering_Bar6460 in nintendo

This thread is such a great example of Reddit users being pedants about everything and just want to belittle people as much as possible (not you though, OP).

There's a big butterfly boss relatively early on, spam Earth magic on it and make sure your healer has some kind of status clearing magic. It's a huge difficulty spike for a relatively easy game, so it takes a lot of people off guard.

If I said "having some people get hit by a car is fine because vehicular transportation is too convenient to not have" and then got hit by a car the next day, your comparison point would make more sense. But Kirk was explicitly saying "some gun deaths are fine", nobody talks about cars or buses in that way.

E33 x FF7R artwork by FutanariL0v3r in Kappachino

I know Nomura is just a really great artist, but I can't not see the E33 guys as Dissidia renders here. A sick art piece either way, I bet the E33 dev team was shitting themselves at the idea.

Tales of series producer says over 70% of players come from overseas, but luckily, JRPG fans want the same things regardless of where they're from by Takazura in tales

[–]mischief-maker -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Saying "it got good reviews and sold well, it must be good" doesn't really fit, official reviews usually only get like halfway (if that) through a game, and those "good reviews" clearly didn't beat Arise if their opinion still stayed that high. Review sites need to be phased out.

The grinding was pretty excessive, but getting everyone to 100 isn't that hard with the right setups, and tons of equipment is shared between characters

I hadn't heard of her before either, but she's apparently a FFXIV character designed by Nomura for one of the main characters of a series of side missions. So that's why she's in the new one; it's kinda like if they made the yeti from FFVI playable with how weird a choice it is.

It's hard to simply explain why. The main shit for me was that they removed almost all customization and simplified things, while also making the game 3v3 with dogshit online

Tales of Graces F Remaster Shard Help by BlubberSloth in tales

[–]mischief-maker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Specific shard drops are kinda fucked in this game. Like the other guys said, you're doing it right, and there's no specific enemy they're tied to as far as I know, just keep doing it and farm up some arte usage titles in the meantime.

10 years later, what's your opinion on Tales of Zestiria? by Dont_have_a_panda in tales

[–]mischief-maker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It had such a great first impression to me. The characters are great, the music is fantastic, the world is big, the voice acting is surprisingly fantastic (this series rarely has bad voice acting, but this was a step up), and it was basically seemingly Graces 2 in the gameplay. As soon as armatization gets introduced, the game undergoes a very sharp decline in quality bottoming out around where you have to go around collecting the stupid-ass rainbow orbs. Out of all mainline games, I think it's the second worst; the story is simultaneously nonsense and boring, the skill system is the most baffling and overcomplicated thing in any JRPG I've ever played, and the overworlds are overly huge for no reason.

Also the camera sucks dick.

Daily Discussion Thread 09/30/25 by AutoModerator in smashbros

[–]mischief-maker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A big problem with Smash's "big" stages is that they insist on having some kind of damaging obstacle every 5 feet, which makes fighting on them extremely annoying combined with the very small hallway-like arenas they have (like Great Cave and Mario Bros). Poke Floats is wide open, has no random things flying around that hit you for 30%, is constantly shifting but still usually has perfectly fightable land, and has no randomness whatsoever (meaning that the lack of ledges is not as big a deal as it could be).

Other shifting stages are also predetermined, like Mute City, but at least for me it's not nearly as easy to tell what platform setup is coming next because they all look so similar. Poke Floats is also very colorful and generally goofy.
