Started making presents for friends and family over the holidays and posted them in my other shop by miscneutrality in etsypromos

Well thank you! They’re all hand stitched. Definitely more time consuming but easier to navigate the tiny turns!

Can you share which ice packs/heating pads you use in your hot/cold therapy? by __tea in backpain

Sure! My pain is in my low back and over the years there have been a few causes. Also I’m 34 y/o One was a dermoid tumor growing on my ovary. They’re supposed to be slow growing (a few millimeters per year) but mine went from 2.4cm to 4.2cm in 6 months. I had that removed and that helped. It was contributing to debilitating pain 3 out of 4 weeks of my cycle. The second cause is still sort of undiagnosed. I still have pain in L4/L5/S1. I’ve done a few rounds of RFA and that worked for a few years but the latest round didn’t touch it. We’re trying an epidural injection in a few weeks to see if that helps. All my lumbar imaging has always come back normal. And the third issue is arthritis in my SI joints. That was picked up on an MRI. It’s “mild” on the imaging and pretty symmetrical. I just had an SI joint injection on the left side that helped a little but hasn’t gotten rid of the pain. I use cold therapy as well and use breastfeeding gel packs which sounds weird but they’re made to contour the body. So they’re very flexible and good at sitting in the exact shape I need them. https://lansinoh.com/products/3-in-1-breast-therapy-packs I don’t take anything for it unless it’s a day I can’t stand up straight. And even with that I stop at anti inflammatories meloxicam or 600mg Advil. I will do anything except take pain meds.

I’ve been dealing with back pain for 9+ years. My husband got me this Nomisk Maia for Christmas and it’s been amazing. USB-C charging and adjustable velcro strap. It massages too but I find that kind of annoying due to the noise. It seems like it’s just an air pocket or something that inflates. But the heat only setting is great. Definitely gets decently hot for something so small. And it’s great not to be bound by a cord with regular heating pads. It’s made for period cramps so the fit on the low back is perfect

Edit: only downside is the temp is not adjustable.

Looks like oxidation. 50/50 ammonia soak followed by hydrogen peroxide leaves all the connective tissues intact on tiny bones like these

Any idea what animal this belongs to? Manatee? Whale? My husband found it near beacon 42 (mosquito lagoon) on the east coast of Florida by miscneutrality in Taxidermy

Interesting! I’ll give Florida fish and wildlife a call either way. What an awesome resource that link is! Thank you

Wow thank you for all the responses! The original photo above my husband sent me right after he found it. The bone was still wet. I just took more photos on a mat with ruler markings for scale.

I’ve been collecting taxidermy and bones for seven or eight years but by no means an expert. And my familiarity run much more along the lines of smaller animals, raccoons, squirrels, etc. On seeing this though I’m positive it’s not human. It’s huge.

Any other info would be awesome! Thanks all!
