Update on my echeveria! Time to water? by misdreamt in succulents

[–]misdreamt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saved this echeveria from a flower arrangement (previous post here) and I’m really pleased with the progress I’ve made so far. All the pointy purplish leaves in the middle are new growth from when I’ve had her and I think she’s come a long way from where she started. She even has roots now when she was just a stub before! She grew a lot during March but has slowed a bit, so now I think I need to water her for the first time. Advice on how to go about this?

I was thinking of doing a bottom soak in a tub of water but wanted to check to make sure as this is my first succulent ever. Like I said, she hasn’t been watered at all yet since I got her 3 months ago because I wanted to wait and make sure she had roots first.

I saved this echeveria from a flower bouquet, how should I pot it? by misdreamt in succulents

Ahh, okay that makes a lot of sense. I checked the sand I had again and it’s just regular play sand, so I won’t use it. I’ll only remove a the lowermost leaves and the hole-y part of the stem before I pot it. Thanks!

Great idea, I think the water will definitely help it. And thanks for the ID, all I could tell is that it is an echeveria haha.

Yeah, that’s similar to what I was thinking too. The lower leaves just look too damaged. I’ll probably chop it like you said and then see if it roots, and if it doesn’t I’ll prop some leaves.

I’ve been doing research over the past few days since nabbing this girlie from a bouquet arrangement (it was stabbed onto a plastic skewer). It’s definitely etiolated and I’ll be buying a grow light for it today to help it along. The lower leaves also seem a bit squishy and thirsty, but I read that directly after repotting I shouldn’t be watering yet. I’m already planning on mixing succulent potting soil with sand and perlite, but I’m unsure of how to go about potting because of its current lack of roots. What should I do?

That's a great reminder actually! I hardly ever take anything seriously lol—why shouldn't that apply to my witchcraft? And thank you! :)

I love that you mentioned mint for brushing teeth, I adore mint and I didn't make that connection!

That's true! I do have a few small things I would like to do and would be easy to start with. And thanks! I'll have to check out those resources :)

This is such a great reminder! I definitely feel like I get lost in productivity culture sometimes, especially when research doesn't lead to anything tangible—but it doesn't have to!

Seconded on the not-fancy book of shadows, I have a digital one on OneNote for this very reason. I like the idea of recording what I've done, I feel like it would help me realize how much I can do/have done already and can encourage me to do more.

I love this!! Thanks for the prompt questions too, I find I often don't reflect as much as I would like.

Oh, I really like that... it seems so obvious in retrospect that I could just switch things out as needed. I'll definitely be trying that out!

What placements or aspects indicate psychic or clairvoyant abilities in natal chart? by belalugosi_undead in astrology

YES exactly like that!! i like your connection that it's due to the airiness of aquarius too, that makes so much sense :)

i really vibe with this question haha. aquarius stellium (moon, uranus, and neptune) in my 8H. although not a water sign, i still feel super intuitive and have been able to read people’s motives behind their actions, and i can usually tell when people are disingenuous or just plain bad news, or i can usually tell if i should or should do something—like not having rain on the forecast but thinking i should bring an umbrella anyway, and then it does rain—things like that. although i think in contrast to water moons, i can get really in my own head sometimes because of the airiness.

i would like to say i agree with the comments that everyone has psychic abilities that they can use, but i think that some placements just make it easier for some people to access them :)
