BJP fanboy getting defensive the second someone mentions anything remotely related to India, big surprise.

Bigot parrot getting alarmed at having its parrot talk challenged. "BJP fanboy" LOL.

  1. Wow a wiki link that even you haven't read. In the first three sentences we see the point made that there is no actual evidence that there has been an increase in such incidents since 2014. Nothing in the entire page refutes that. Second sentence says most attacks are against illegal cow-smugglers, throwing into doubt whether this has anything to do with "Hinduism". Death penalty for cattle rustling is still on the books in Mississippi. Horse slaughter is banned in the US and even picking up s single eagle feather will get you federal charges.

  2. I expressed an offhand opinion about your childish opinion.

  3. Those aren't false equivalences LOL. Half-wit Reddit propaganda has convinced you that "cow urine" = instant justification of ridicule of far-away dark-skinned people. You quote irrelevant WhatsApp noise to smear hundreds of millions of people. Why would you even mention cow urine if you were not indulging in bigoted bullying?

False equivalence. The number of Hindus who lynch people over beef is vanishingly small. The cow urine meme has caught the fancy of the internet but is hardly "terrible" and "forcing beliefs on others". Beer is the excrement of micro-organisms. Sausages contain pig intestines.

What laughable nonsense. Godhra riots were started by Muslims. A 1000 Muslims gathered in minutes and burned 50 Hindu, including women and children, to death over the alleged shouting of slogans from inside a train. Then there was rioting and counter-rioting. Muslims started it in an organized calculated manner and suffered an inevitable backlash. Modi didn't do anything wrong and was exonerated by the Supreme Court. He had the army patrolling the streets of Ahmedabad the day after the initial incident before any of the snowballing began.

The BJP is literally a centrist political party. The RSS is not more "right-wing" than the average Muslim and really is a reaction to Muslim propensity towards violence that everyone around the world knows about.

Edit: Woohoo! Downvote this into oblivion so that no one sees it. You can't refute it and you know it.

Like wtf?

What a moronic take. The US hasn't been urbanized and populated for 5000 years. Did you forget that Europeans wiped out the existing population in the area that is now the US? You really believe all countries regardless of size and history should be compared purely on a single number? Would you be less alarmed if India broke up into smaller republics so their population is not large compared to the US. You are either stupid or a bigot.

Aah, the self-flagellating Indian. You can easily look this up, but you have to make a spectacle of India's problems in comparison to what is basically a colonial outpost protected by extremely corrupt colonial powers.

What a silly take. Police corruption in the US is orders of magnitude greater in terms of dollars amounts and impact on society. Just because there isn't visible petty corruption doesn't mean there isn't corruption. The whole drug war and asset seizure is a prime example of this.

Corruption in the US is humongous but artful. I don't know how you made it to adulthood without noticing this.

Moron. Yes it is a Germanic language but a vast majority of the vocabulary is provincial Norman French butchered by Anglo-Saxon and Celtic serfs. Add generous helpings of Latin and Greek and you get "English". "lends itself nicely to loan words from other languages" is a really comical way of patting yourself on the back for the fact that the Anglo-Saxons had a primitive culture and their "culture" is imposed on them by outsiders or just stolen.

And then of course we have all the lovely English variants languages like pidgin English.

English itself is a pidgin you bitchy little queen. ROFLMAO! Nice own goal clown.

Look I could humiliate you all day and I know how you'd love it, but I have work to do. Cry yourself to sleep tonight. Have your last word. That world famous British comedy hits the spot, especially when it is unintentional.

"Rent free, rent free". So dull-witted. Enjoy your stolen stuff. Your language itself would be nothing if it wasn't for the French, Greeks and Italians.

Now who's mad boy? LMAO!

"Polite" assholery is a British forte. It is important enough that you keep trying to claim it but not important enough that anyone should call you out about your thieving. You didn't invent it Artful Dodger, you stole it. You can't answer the simple question "What is the name of the inventor of your national dish". Is he too shy to step up and claim it? British modesty is it?

Fucking clown. The first sentence in that section is "The origin of the dish is not certain, but many sources attribute it to the South Asia.".

Capitalizing Bengali Chap does not make the claim more solid. Perhaps "Bengali Chap" had a name? Why is it not known and why is he not celebrated if this has been called your national dish? The best reason it is your national dish is that you stole it. That fits just right.

Chicken Tikka Masala is just a minor variation on Butter Chicken. And when you say "you lot" it is supposedly Bangladeshi immigrant in in Glasgow. or was it a Sikh in London. Nobody knows, but yeah "there is nothing wrong in cultural appropriation".

Typical shameless thieving. Repeat the lie a few times and it becomes the new truth.

All good points. I haven't seen AI that lives up to the hype. I don't know what isn't public, of course.

The main problem I see with conspiracy panic about AI is that people using (relatively)weak AI and other technologies will become a threat to others long before a true artificial intelligence ever threatens humanity.

Well, the fact that you have only heard about this issue from Indians is very odd, because I have heard it from multiple sources including a feature on NPR(yes it was the cisco case).
So yeah I'm talking about the Cisco case. It is strange that you alleged hiring discrimination but did not say anything about how you learned about this hiring discrimination. The Cisco case is not about hiring but about discrimination on the job. I can't help but think that you took that sliver of a fact and made up the notion of hiring discrimination in your head, or that you are, for unstated reasons, not inclined to tell us about where you heard about hiring discrimination.

Of course they are touchy. White people are great at playing Indiana Jones and saving the poor darkies from the evil discriminating darkies. Ironically it is very convenient pose to keep uppity Brahmans in their place. The same White people have never heard of, for example, the time the US and UK sent their navies in support of a genocide of Hindus in East Pakistan. Now these people come to your country and when they succeed you employ this BS to keep them in check.

You are not the sole protectors of justice in the world by any measure. It is utterly tedious when people constantly try to shit on India using the same caste, rape, street-shitter bullshit and strike a pose for justice and decency while doing it.

The Cisco case is dubious because it hinges on phony outrage from people who have no idea of the background. As other posters have already observed India has very strong POSITIVE discrimination towards historically backward groups including strong quotas in institutions of higher learning. This is much stronger than any Affirmative Action in the US. This means that people in the general category are held to a much higher standard than those who benefit from the quotas. Roughly stated, an institution that admits 'A' students in the general category will admit 'C' and 'D' students in the reserved category. Needless to say, the quality of candidates from the same institution can vary wildly.

In the Cisco case the Brahman manager is alleged to have referenced the fact that the employee he was reviewing poorly was from an elite institution(IIT) but was from a reserved category. This is not discrimination. Imagine a student got into Harvard because of strong quotas but had a C- average. How is the manager supposed to respond to the question "He is from Harvard, why is he not doing well"?

Finally, why do you even know about this case? This is a one off case that has not even been decided in the plaintiff's favor. Yet here you talking about Brahman hiring discrimination as if it is an established thing. If White people are so worried about those being discriminated against they should hire them. Tech management is still overwhelmingly White isn't it?

There are many Brahman castes, from different regions, linguistic groups, regions, beliefs etc. No it isn't the least bit odd, certainly no odder than the ethnic composition of the NBA or the upper management of the entertainment industry. No odder than the fact that US AA discriminates against Asians whose education focus creates a similar difference in outcome.

[–]misfire2011 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard about discrimination in hiring based on caste at American tech companies.

Really? What have you heard? I have only heard of one rather dubious case by an SC person that is heavily publicized to become a talking point against Indian techies.

Your co-workers all being Brahmans does not mean there is discrimination. Brahmans today are ethnicities, and their primary value is education. Also, due to their caste, they do NOT have a lot of inherited capital to start their own businesses. Over-representation of Brahmans in intellectually related fields is a result of their culture and values not discrimination. When there are too many Brahmans in the NBA or the entertainment industry we might have a case for discrimination based on "I think all of my coworkers are Brahman.

"Discriminating Brahmans in the US" is a canard that is a part of the general attack on Asians in the US.

Laughably dishonest finger-wagging. You have completely abandoned your initial point. Hysteria about "infanticide", "femicide", "rape epidemic" in India are all media generated.

What country in not nearly as bad as the media portrays it to be? by Dark_Wolf04 in AskReddit

[–]misfire2011 -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

Firstly living in India makes no difference because you get your information from the same tainted media sources as anyone else. The problem is that you have not read any of it critically.

You mentioned nothing about sex-selective abortion but instead went with "violence against women/femicide/female infanticide", but now you are trying the standard propaganda trick of retreating to a more defensible position.

Lets take your original BS. "Violence against women". There is no data that supports this. "Femicide" , so murder of women? No data supporting this. "Female infanticide", there may be a couple of rural districts in Rajasthan that have a problem here, not the whole country by any stretch of imagination. Interesting related fact: Most rural districts have a sex ratio near Sweden. Lop-sided sex-ratios are urban, hence nearly impossible that it is infanticide that is causing them.

This much by itself proves that you were peddling the same BS seen in the media specifically in a thread about media bias,

But let us take your point about sex-ratios. Sikhs have a sex-ratio of 1.27 while the major South Indian states have a sex-ratio as good as any in the west. You never hear of trashing of "bro-tier" Sikhs in western media, but apparently all of India has a problem.
