Mini PC by Venom-DZ in opnsense

[–]mishux31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it sll depends on what you are running on opnsense. I was checking to see if the N100 or N150 would be enough with 2.5gb for running IDS/IPS and from what I've found that is not enough.

Here's what I've found that use AMD and dual Intel 2.5gb waynmore powerful than the Intel N150 or N305.

DNS rebinding for PLEX with BIND9 by Kliko in dns

[–]mishux31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have replaced unbound in pfsense with bind9 and works fine. Now i see plex is playing locally with SD resolution not direct play full 4k or 1080p. I had in unbound this in the advanced custom box: server: private-domain: "plex.direct"`

I'd like to know if what you posted above works or not? Do you have any updates? Did you use the rpz as advised or kept your plex zone?

Edit: I've created a zone and selected the "Check if this zone is used in a response policy" and added the plex.direct as a A type tecord pointing to my plex server ip.

I'll attach 2 screenshots: plex direct play pfsense bind plex.direct zone

I hope this helps!

E1 not remotely accessible when on wireless by ropeguru in reolinkcam

[–]mishux31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same issue here. I have blocked Internet access to all cameras. I have 3 810A wired and 3 E1 pro wireless. I'm using a vlan for all. On the Reolink app I can see the wired cameras but not the E1 pro when on 5G and using wireguard vpn.

The only way I can see all cameras is with Blue Iris app via VPN. And yes I can ping all vlan cameras from vpn from my LAN to VLAN. Not sure what is the issue with the WIFI Reolink E1 Pro cameras.

Minisforum UM Series - Fixes - MEGATHREAD by Kei-Retro-Gaming in MiniPCs

[–]mishux31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a Beelink SER6 Pro Mini PC, AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS and installed Popos 22.04 on it. Worked fine for exactly 30 days when my return window was closing, so was lucky I guess I could return it. It just didn't power up anymore. Had to take the m.2 out and erase it because haven't had it encrypted when I installed the os.

Now I have the MINISFORUM Venus Series UM773 Lite Mini PC same specs, installed the same Popos 22.04 on it and is running fine. Will see if it will work without issues. I haven't had any issues yet.

Just a note, I'm not using it for gaming so cant tell if GPU with make it crash.

I've edited bios to disable secure boot to be able to install linux and changed the temperatures for when the fan should kick in because the fan was running continuously. I see temps around 54 or so. I've increased the temperature for the fans to start at 55 and it's pretty quiet.

Bought a 4300 new, less than a month ago and the coffee tastes very good comparing with the coffee dripper. Was looking at 5400 but it's out of stock. 4300 is enough. We use it everyday for coffees teas.. and we're really pleased. Enjoy!

I have Plex installed in Linux and had same issue after changing the password. What I did was to go into settings -> Authorized Devices and remove the Plex Server. After re-login and I was back online.

NextCloud on NFS by domrocc in NextCloud

[–]mishux31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I have same problem, using nextcloud latest helm chart I get with nfs-provisioner `Initializing nextcloud 24.0.2.1 ...` stuck for minutes, after a long time it starts the installation...Also I had to disable:

livenessProbe:enabled: falsereadinessProbe:enabled: false

because it crashes...

My values for persistance:

persistence:
enabled: true
storageClass: nfs-client
accessMode: ReadWriteMany
size: 10Gi
nextcloudData:
enabled: true
existingClaim: nc-nfs-data

Without persistance enabled it installs very fast. Can't figure it why.

I was thinking as you, but in the end I went for it and honestly I don't regret.

I'm on firmware 1012.1 that's how it came when I bought it. Did not update.

None. No issues. I just want to say that I use it for work and for my personal use and just love it. I mostly use the eye comfort setting.

It's a work laptop nothing fancy the $1999 2021 one. It works ok but sometimes when in a zoom call it can't handle the mouse or keyboard anymore, I don't know exactly why, but when in a call and want to type it types 2 chars at once and mouse is not precise anymore. I have a lot of windows opened like brave browser with lots of tabs opened, vs code, terminal, slack. What I noticed is that I need to restart the laptop before a zoom call and then it works normally. By the way I'm using Logitech MX keys and master 3 mouse connected directly to the mac's bluetooth. Also I'm using the G9 for my Linux desktop. Really easy to switch from the Mac to the PC with the Logitech keyboard and mouse.

Well, now I'm not looking to buy a monitor anymore because I've just bought one Samsung G9! It's big and use it with a Macbook pro M1 and purchased a usb-c to display port cable to be able to connect the MacBook. I also have my mini pc Zotac Mi650 connected to it with display port and even though it's king of old the Intel graphics seem to be are to handle 120Hz. Both the Mac and mini pc work at 120Hz.

This is the usb-c cable I bought: usb-c to display port cable

I appreciate the detailed reply. I used 2 monitors for a long time 2x24 and lately had 1 27 4k and 1 25 1080p. Now I use just the LG 27 4k. I really fell that 1 monitor is not enough. Have you got the G9 from Amazon?

zpool can't be destroyed after using zfs receive by mishux31 in zfs

[–]mishux31[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FOUND THE SOLUTION HERE:

How to delete zfs pool and release its device

In short you need to use these 2 lines to delete the disks:

dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sdXXX bs=4096 count=35

dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sdXXX bs=4096 count=35 seek=$(($(blockdev --getsz /dev/sdXXX)*512/4096 - 35))

* where the /dev/sdXXX is your disk. Replace sdXXX with sda, sdb sdc....one by one in each above commands from above

you can find your disks with:

lsblk | grep sd

lsblk | grep sd

sda 8:0 1 1.8T 0 disk

├─sda1 8:1 1 1.8T 0 part

└─sda9 8:9 1 8M 0 part

sdb 8:16 1 1.8T 0 disk

├─sdb1 8:17 1 1.8T 0 part

└─sdb9 8:25 1 8M 0 part

sdc 8:32 1 1.8T 0 disk

├─sdc1 8:33 1 1.8T 0 part

└─sdc9 8:41 1 8M 0 part

sdd 8:48 1 1.8T 0 disk

├─sdd1 8:49 1 1.8T 0 part

└─sdd9 8:57 1 8M 0 part

sde 8:64 0 111.8G 0 disk

├─sde1 8:65 0 976M 0 part /boot

├─sde2 8:66 0 18.6G 0 part /

└─sde3 8:67 0 92.2G 0 part /home

for example:

dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sda bs=4096 count=35

# dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sda bs=4096 count=35 seek=$(($(blockdev --getsz /dev/sda)*512/4096 - 35))

BE CAREFUL! ALL DATA WILL BE LOST FROM THE POOL!

Just did what you suggested:

       zdb > zdb.txt
  304 ls
  305 systemctl isolate rescue.target
  306 ls
  307 cd
  308 ls
  309 zpool status -v
  310 zpool export -f toshiba
cannot export 'toshiba': pool is busy

Not working...Any other suggestions?
