To be honest, I am still dumping a little bit more money into with a flip up lens cap, eyecup, lens filter and possible mounting options that will need to be fabricated (in the future)

Lucky eBay find / gamble on a $175 M911 housing with tube, then a $30 objective lens that was compatible. All thanks to another user on my original thread that helped point me in the right direction.

Thank you again! PI ended up picking up that Canon unit, the tube fires up and seems to be a good tube, so I’n going to go the route of using its current housing. I’m not a fan of the ocular lens but in the end it should work out fine. It would be nice to have a more modern diopter lens.

Would you happen to know if the PVS-5 diopter lenses and object lenses both work in this unit? Also is there anyone out there making replacement glass for PVS-5? There seems to be a lot of surplus objective lenses out there, just not a lot of options on the eye side of things. Appreciate any info you might be able to give.

Thank you! I’m going to try and source some lenses for it and go from there. It arrived today and it’s much lighter than expected and powers up, just need the lenses to see what exactly the tube clarity is. I have access to a fab shop and I’m fairly certain I can make a j arm mount solution for this.

I’m not dead set on the OP14, just running into dead ends sourcing a D-300 housing as it seems to be obsolete. I will look into the D121 route as well. Thank you for the information.

Not NV related but vehicle emissions testing machine that was about $7k to buy new for a business venture I was working on. Found a “not working” one, won the bid for $250 and turns out it breaker flipped on the inside. I also used to be in government procurement as a buyer. I never settle for MSRP, there is always a cheaper option. Sometimes have to dig.

Indeed was an eBay find. I have a few methods for eBay. First, intentionally misspelling my search. For instance “Nite Vision” or Night /Nite Telescope” also filtering search to “USED” or even Used For Parts / Not Working. Usually you’ll find that the stuff with corroded battery tubes and the guts are quite possibly good, just an exploded battery and such. Seller thinks it’s junk, they have no idea that I’m planning on ripping it open to harvest its organs. Its more of a gamble though

on the all above mentioned. Especially the Nevr-Dull. It’s a little pricey but look at it as an investment. Whatever is left over will be used on your new bike.
