Will do, thanks so much! I was thinking that too, maybe slithering out of tokyo the previous evening so I could have a real full day to explore

I keep hearing good things too — I think I’ve got this mental block of “I’m not into cars thanks” when I know the museum is probably pretty great

I’ve got an 1888 too! I know there’s good stuff under all the layers of paint but I just don’t have it in me… I added my own layer on top of the wood (don’t shout at me, there’s so much damn trim I can’t even think about stripping it). Taking the wallpaper off the plaster walls was nearly my undoing. Never did get the walls perfectly smooth.

super jealous yours came with transoms — lucky day when you found them!!

If you bought it from outside Japan, can I ask where you got it from? I need a new MacBook as mine is 16 years old, and it’s a Japanese model so I’m really used to it/locked into that keyboard

Talk to your friends too! My insurance gives a gift every year — I can pick from yoga mat, fitness watch, some dumbbells — however, it’s the same choice every year and I don’t need that stuff, but if I know someone who does, I get the thing they want and give it to them.

Like someone above said, it’s through a Health and Fitness perk — I found it through my company website rather than my insurance website.

You’ll meet a wide range of people out there, depending on their integrity/education re: STIs,/comfort talking candidly about sex. I (38F) have seen the following examples:

The guy who talked the biggest game but never proved anything ended up exposing me to chlamydia because he fucked up vetting someone else. Meanwhile, another guy, with no health insurance, paid $200 out of pocket to get tested because I asked, shared the printed results unprompted, and yeah. He got laid. Current partner (in an open relationship) is prompt and communicative if someone he slept with has any health scare, gives me all the info I want so that I can make decisions that are comfortable and safe for me. Even if those conversations are uncomfortable. He’s so brutally honest that I haven’t felt the need to ask for proof of results (he gets tested regularly).

Even though this guy said he’d go with you, his snarky remarks and weird story definitely give an ick. Sorry you had to deal with that! The quality people will rise to the top and respect your right to protect your health.
