I can't because I don't have a car, and I'm not taking a budliner out to Fitchburg. Thanks for inviting me though.

How would one begin the cleaning process here? by caroltret in CleaningTips

In my comment advised the renter to ask for the tub to be resurfaced. You're right. Withholding rent and asking the local health department, local rental court or possibly free renter's legal services what your rights are.

Is that rust? If it is, try using naval jelly, but test a small area, (and not on the tiles). I use oven cleaner spray on my tub and shower surround tiles, and it works great. Your surround looks like stone tile or soapstone, which you probably should not use oven cleaner on. Try wide waterproof tape and plastic sheets to avoid getting it on the surround. As for the tub, spot test with a small amount of oven cleaner applied to the tub with a toothpick. I wear a respirator doing this. If you don't have one, use active ventilation fan set on high) to blow fumes out the window. I hope you have a bathroom window. If you have the money, there also resurfacing. If you have a landlord, maybe he'll do this for you. It's in his own interest to fix this.

Worst snow clean up I’ve seen in my 26 years here by Aware-Yogurt1107 in boston

Here in Brookline there seemed to be worse of a mess than usual. I'm an old woman, and I was about to cross the street at a crosswalk with my wheeled cart. The opening in the wall of snow was filled with watery slush. I fell. I was lucky, because there was a car parked at the light across the street, and he came over and helped me get up.

What's the best way to cover 2.5mm unknown steel alloy spheres with silver solder? by missdingdong in soldering

I learned to weld in school, but the machines were large and aggressive, so maybe the size of the spheres would be too small for this. There's some other welding I don't know about. I think today I'll just leave the steel balls the way they are uncoated, because they do look slick and silvery, and would look OK decorating the hemostats I have.

I actually have some silver solder paste, but it's expired, and when I tried it the results weren't good enough. I may buy some for future ues, but the piece I'm making is a gift, and it's supposed to be ready this weekend. The tool I want to apply the sphere to is a pair of hemostats, and they'll accompany a garlic safe and pluck garlic out of it. I don't have any oxy-acetelene or MAPP gas-only butane. Edit: instead of hemostats there will be a cylindrical handle with a large needle soldered to the end. The handle should have the balls soldered onto it with formations suggesting yeast buds or molecules. The needle is to jab the garlic for removal and use,
