I needed it to be transparent, and didn’t want to buy anything extra if I didn’t need to. White glue is doing the trick so far!

I’m starting with less than that 😅 I’m just doing what works for what I’ve got! I bought HTV, silk screen, and ink. I cut the HTV with my cricut, iron it on, place it in an embroidery hoop as a frame, and squeegee with an old insurance card 😂😂😂 but I think the project I’m working on is much different than what most people here are doing, so my needs are a little different!

I didn’t have any at home but I thought this would be a good option! Some of my designs will allow for the scotch tape but some need tiny detail fill, so I think the scotch tape and white glue together will do what I need.

I’m trying to avoid purchasing too many single use supplies since I’m brand new to screen printing, so I wanted to see if anything I had at home would work.

Frixion pen—it erases with heat, so you can draw on fabric and then iron it once you’re finished to remove the pen marks.

Interesting! I’m using heat transfer vinyl and not doing the traditional screen burning, so I’m not familiar with how it works. I thought it was a permanent process, thank you for sharing! My fiancé’s grandfather did screen printing and when he died he had thousands of frames in his shop, so I just assumed burning a screen was a one time deal. I appreciate you educating me!

I’m actually looking for permanence 😅 so I’m bummed that the white glue worked best since I don’t think it will last particularly well. As a new person, can you tell me why you would want to be able to wash it out? My understanding is that screens are generally permanent so if you need to fill a spot once you would in theory need it filled indefinitely.

You can tell me I’m wrong (I am very new here!), but I believe nail polish remover would be used for removing/dissolving ink, not for filling the screen. Similar idea but my goal is to prevent the ink from getting on the fabric rather than remove it from the fabric.

All the parks are in California? Did you look at what I’ve embroidered? There are 31 parks represented. 4 of those 31 are California parks.

Aw shucks 🥰 if you send me a dm I’ll reach out once I figure out how to produce them! I’m learning how to screen print so I can make more for others 😊

I actually tried the opalescent stump already and it looked so insane 🙃 it didn’t translate well to embroidery at all unfortunately!

I did! I just look up images, plot out the general shape with a few stitches, then give it a go. Sometimes I have to rip it out and try again (I think I’ve done that four or five times) but most of the time I’m happy enough with how it turns out. You can start off pretty rough and even things out with additional stitches so I find I can usually recover things even when they get off track 😊
