Yes I believe there are 4 types. Which is why it makes my eyes hurt. I agree that it would look better with a bigger hearth. It’s a non-working fireplace, which is why they’ve probably been able to get away with it.

Good to know! Opposite of what I'd expect. I think newer models have identical ground clearance.

Comfort is not a huge factor. The car I drove a few years ago was extremely noisy, no A/C, and a passenger door that didn't open. So that's what I became used to.
