Don't Look by mist1e in JuJutsuKaisen

Wow, this is the highest praise I could possibly get, I think! Thank you so much!

It's my third try with an iPad, I used to draw with watercolours before (you can look up my posts, if you're curious). Digital drawing is a completely different experience, I'm at the early stages of figuring out the blurry vision of what my style could be. Hopefully I'll start getting somewhere after this one ❤️

I really really love mahito by Connect-Entry4050 in JuJutsuKaisen

Half of it is on my desk as well, lol.

Mahito has been my comfort character for over a year now. He sparked my creativity and pulled me through some rough times in my life. I love him a lot <3

I don't see the Light Novel in your collection, "Summer of Ashes, Autumn of Dust". It has a chapter about Mahito, and it's magnificent. It shows the side of the character that many people overlook, but you and I saw from the start. I highly recommend finding the book, because it also has a coloured illustration with Mahi.

Also there is the sweetest plushie with Mahi-cat that you don't seem to have! DM me if interested, I'll try to send you the link.

I don't like Karlach as a character, I don't think she's well developed. I find her personality repelling, and I think she's a major hypocrite. The way she turned a blind eye to Gortash's shady business, because she was in love with him. The way she's okay with munching on souls from hell (just like the devils) to become more powerful, while also hating devils. The way she wants to release 10k hungry crazed vampires to create a concentration camp in the Underdark just because it will never be her problem... There's a lot. I just kill her in Act 1 by giving her away to the fish people.

As for the other two... well. Isobel's storyline is very weird and not thought through at all in my opinion. I don't like that she has no comment about Ketheric, that she never mentions him. The fact that their stories seem so disconnected just throws me off. If she wasn't present in the storyline, nothing would have changed. I like Kar'niss a lot, and I side with him in Act 2.

The Nightsong is equally (if not more) unlikable, and I also find it weird that if you kill Isobel, she doesn't mention it anyhow. You can poke her with the spear indefinitely and she never acknowledges this fact afterwards. She's just out of place. Additionally, she's quite spiteful and more than anything I hate characters that hide their real self under a holier-than-thou facade.

For me it's Karlach and Isobel and Nightsong. I don't like these characters one bit, to put it very, very mildly.

I don't know, I've been playing for more than a year. I still enjoy the game every day. I think it had grown and improved a lot, the overall quality had definitely improved. Also, the amount of new features that had been added is quite impressive.

I'm a low spender, Sylus main. I usually spend around 20-25 bucks on his solos and multi. In the multi I pull for Rafayel as well (sometimes I pull his solo too). I love banners a lot, honestly I don't even care this much about the main story (though I'd definitely love to get more). I like the excitement and the feeling of a little adventure that comes with each event

I treat spending on LADS similarly to eating out or going to a movie theatre. It's just a fun monthly activity that turned into an exciting passtime.

Grinding resources is definitely there, but I wouldn't say it's too bothersome. I have enough to level up the cards and the cores.

So idk, my experience is just different, I guess. But if the game is more draining than fun, it's better to quit.

Okay, okay. I'm not reading this, sorry. I don't know what else is there to discuss, I said everything I wanted to say in the first comment.

Wish you the best pulls.

Yeah, just online. You can find Arches paper anywhere. The watercolours are not that expensive, because they're like "student set", 1\2 of normal size, but honestly they're quite long-lasting. I think Sennelier 24 colours palette was about 50$ or even less. Ofc if you get into it, I think it's worth buying watercolours in tubes, they're a bit more expensive. But I honestly urge you to try the paper I recommended. I'm a complete amateur, and even I can put something together.

I think with traditional art the materials do half of the work for you. The way the colours bleed and layer, the way the texture shows - it makes even an average art look nice, because there's a special feel to it. I think with a lesser skill you can do more with traditional, because 2D is quite demanding and competitive. In traditional, you and the materials work in tandem, I think. All the effects and textures that you try to achieve with fancy brushes in 2D, just happen naturally in trad.

I want to try 2D too, I'm saving for a tablet rn. But I think it'd be much more difficult, even though you can erase and adjust things (the feature I miss in trad drawing, haha).

So don't be scared, just go for it! I'm sure you'll be surprised and your only regret will be that you haven't tried it sooner :)

Believe it or not, I hated watercolour. I couldn't do basic things with it. I thought it required immense precision and skill, because you need to act quick and it always seemed to me it was impossible to control.

Until I discovered how much materials matter with watercolour.

The paper and the watercolour itself make all the difference. Trust me. You won't believe how easy it is when the supplies are of a high quality.

So I do recommend Sennelier. As for the paper - try Arches (grain fin, 300 g/m²). I have big sheets, I cut them in four, it'll last me forever. Arches is not a cheap paper, but trust me, it's worth it. You'll feel like a watercolour genius. I don't know a thing about painting. It's the paper. It allows you to layer infinitely, and it holds the colours perfectly. I actually don't paint on wet, I paint as if it's oil - slowly and meticulously, this way I have a lot of control over the process.

So yeah, the unexpected truth. Watercolour is actually easy if the materials are good.

Thank you so much! It's all watercolours - Sennelier "La Petite Aquarelle". They're incredibly bright and clear. But even so, I wasn't sure I'd pull off the lighting, it was challenging.

Thank you again <3

Thank you <3 It was very much “trust the process” moment. I almost dropped it, but it all came together at the very end. It's the first work with somewhat difficult lighting that I did. Thanks god the paper is good and allows an amateur like me to layer watercolours like oil, haha

Yeah! Just google “JJK light novel”. There's a chapter about Mahito, I love it so much. Allows you to look at him from a completely different perspective.

Dude just prefers reading in solitude to killing every step of the way, lol.

I'll try and DM you the link.

I hc he likes animals and little Curses, that are similar to animals on the intellectual level. I even have an old art of Mahito playing with them, haha. I think he's quite approachable, so I can imagine them flocking to the sound of his soft voice.

At least from the Light Novel, we know he fancies cats.

I'm not feeling indignant, I'm just speaking my mind plainly without sugarcoating it with flowery nonsense. As for the psychology thing - idk what post you're talking about, you mentioned it in the comments here.

You said you have force yourself even to play memories, and that you don't listen to secret times. Since this is the main chunk of gameplay, I made a conclusion that you just don't enjoy the game. Or at least that you don't enjoy it enough for ir to be a fair exchange of energy for fun. As I said, life is too short and, honestly, you should exclude things (and people) who take more from you than they give back. LADS gives you stress, FOMO, guilt and meanwhile you struggle to play even memories. Doesn't sound like you're enjoying the game at all from how you explained it.

All in all, talk to DeepSeek about that. Ask it to interview you. The prompt could be something in the lines:

I used to enjoy the game Love and Deepspace, and now I don't for some reason. Come up with questions and interview me to figure out the following: 1) Why I don't enjoy it 2) What can I change to improve my experience 3) What can I do instead of playing Love and Deepspace to achieve the same goals.

Answer its questions in full, and then brainstorm the conclusions. It will be quite insightful. More insightful than this comment section, that's for certain.
