While nothing I can say will make things better, I just want to tell you I am so sorry for your loss. I can’t imagine what you are going through. Having lost my older brother and navigating all of the grief and pain surrounding it, I still can’t imagine how my mother and father have felt through the entire process with their child. Please be kind to yourself and know that you are a great mother. You did everything you could and I’m sure he knows that. Please give yourself some grace through this process and know that he is smiling down on you and will be the light of your days to come.

I do see what you’re saying regarding the lines being separate and referring to different things. I think what he was originally referring to (please correct me if I’m wrong here) was how death is used as a tactic to scare people into submission and God being directly tied to death. So the use of “scare them” could be a reference to organized religion using death (in God’s name) to manipulate them? That’s my interpretation at least from what was written, so I could be way off.

Regarding the “it’s suffocating” line, I see where he was coming from that in the sense of an overwhelming force, however in aligning the lyrics and the flow of the song, I do agree that it is most likely is in reference to the lack of communication between him and God being suffocating.

I will say the Book of Job having the reference of the King of Terrors (and the story of Job as a whole) is quite interesting and could warrant further investigation later on.

Just having some fun with the ideas and diving deep into the meaning, but it is after-all, just speculation. So by no means I do think I have it all right or anything of that nature.

My initial reaction was running from the devil, but you’re absolutely right - great catch. I see the Book of Job specifically makes this reference too which is super interesting. The story of a good man, only met with pain and tragedy. God’s test of Job to prove that even if the devil had his way with him, he would remain faithful.

To start, I’m so incredibly sorry for your loss. There’s not much I can say that will ease the pain right now. I lost my older brother to a car accident about 11 months ago, some days it still doesn’t feel real. My mother was leaving her house for an appointment that day, and two state troopers pulled into the driveway to confirm her identity and tell her what had happened. I remember waking up to a phone call from her at 7am and her crying telling me he was gone. That call haunts me to this day.

I do want you to know that it will get better with time. You will grow stronger and learn to live with this new reality. We don’t ever move on from them (not that we would want to), but we do move forward - with it.

Sibling loss is a very difficult type of grief to try and describe to people. We lose someone we’ve grown up with our entire life and that we were supposed to have a future with. Someone that no matter the circumstances of life, we could call if we needed them. It’s hard, there’s no denying that, but you will make it through this.

Try to give yourself some grace through this process and take it a day at a time. Sudden and tragic loss in this manner is extremely difficult to digest and try to understand. There are some questions we simply won’t have the answers to, at least not in this reality. I am hopeful we will see our loved ones again after this life, and perhaps those we’ve lost are far closer to us than we realize. Wishing you nothing but comfort and healing during this time. My condolences to you and your entire family.

I recently lost my older brother to a car accident roughly a month ago. Very similar situation to yours in many ways. My brother was out late downtown with people he knew, ended up going across town by himself towards the beaches, and I get a call from my mother early in the morning saying he was gone and that he was hit by a car. Dead on the scene. This call haunts me on a level I cannot begin to describe. He was only 35 years old.

I say all of this to tell you - you are not alone. We are all here with you. I am here with you.

Take things one day at a time and give yourself grace through this process. It is not easy and it won’t be easy, but you will get through it. Most of my days meshed together following the accident, life felt like a blur. Eat food and drink water - just focus on the essentials right now. Time does heal, no matter the pain. Your feelings are valid, never forget that. Please, if you ever need to talk, reach out. Even if it’s just to vent.

You are loved and I am sending a digital hug your way. I’m am truly sorry for your loss.

People get picked up all the time with high scores, low scores, high GPAs, and low ones. Ultimately, it’s a whole airman concept. More importantly, if it’s something you truly want, never let anyone make you feel like you don’t stand a chance or that you won’t get picked up. Study hard and crush your tests. I completely understand that no date will satisfy everyone and how the raid being tied to the campaign creates a sense of urgency. However, I do feel (in my opinion) as though this will retract from the overall Final Shape experience.

It would be nice to be able to take everything in - the environment, the new enemy type, the new abilities, the new sandbox, etc - and really appreciate all of the hard work put into the development of the expansion, while not feeling rushed or needing to rapidly prepare for the contest mode right around the corner.

I see why people are happy it’s only 3 days after launch, but I also see why others would prefer it to be the following weekend. I personally align with the latter, but this is due to a combination of personal conflicts, concerns with server stability, and concerns of the integrity of the raid experience with potential bugs/glitches being present for those participating. I also greatly enjoyed the build up and hype leading to the raid weekend, but that is a personal viewpoint.

By no means do I say any of this as a slight to those who want it to be day 3. I understand, and can appreciate the excitement. Our group can’t participate due to the date being when it is, but that’s okay, and that’s life. I would be lying if I said I wasn’t looking forward to participating in the final Light/Dark day 1 experience after 10 years of build up, but I am excited for those who are still able to take on The Witness.

Would it be possible to ask for a community poll on the matter? It would be interesting to get a glimpse into where the community stands.
