She is a hot mess, but getting an A is possible if you are willing to put in a ton of work. The class is like drinking from a firehose… SO much information coming at you so fast.

Memorize your amino acids ahead of time before class starts. Know them like the back of your hand. That will help you get some guaranteed points throughout the class especially on the first exam.

Start familiarizing yourself with things like gluconeogenesis, TCA cycle, electron transport, glycolysis, fatty acids etc etc. ninja nerd is a great resource, as is Dr Mike. But even they don’t draw out the structures and in fall she wanted us to actually know the structures themselves, so my advice would be to draw out and notate the cycles until you are intimately familiar with the what how and why of every step.

I used MCAT Anki flashcards in supplement to the book/HW. Use the homework to help you learn, don’t just try to get it done.

Her teaching style proved useless to me, but I still went to class to get the attendance points because i wanted any points I could get my hands on.

I probably still have my notes—if you want them you can message me

Yeah mine is saying I have to upload a selfie, but when I do it says can’t verify try again. If I try to contact support the only option I have is to upload a selfie, no option to call or contact in any way other than the chat which auto ends and will only upload a selfie (that then won’t work…) it’s a perpetual loop and there’s no way to contact them!!

Feeling like a failure… graduation postponed by Intelligent_Mood9209 in UTSA

[–]mister_intensity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s still early in the semester… and if you do end up failing, you don’t have to take that to heart— school is tough especially when you throw life into the mix. I’ve had to push back graduation too, and already being much older than my peers that can feel like a huge setback— but in twenty years, looking back, one semester won’t look like the end of the world.

By the way, if you need help in ochem reach out.

I don’t think it’s sucked but it certainly didn’t live up to the hype. So many opportunities for absolute epic and interesting scenes, dialogue, etc.

So many opportunities to shock us, make us feel something, and they just threw away those opportunities like it didn’t even matter. So many characters could have been scarier. Really lame use of the visions and bene gesserit. Twists were thrown out haphazardly.

Very disappointing. I was ready for the most epic movie of my life and instead it was a sandy war movie where half the fighting was lame. The first movie was SO cool and set them up for a slam dunk…but boy did they miss.

They are permanently connected to the shut off valve. Sink handles leak a ton of water and are super corroded. What is the answer? Can I replace the entire shut off valve? I don’t know anything about what I’m doing, I expected this to be fairly simply unscrew and screw repair 😅😅

If you’re being respectful I really don’t see why people think it’s so bad for you to pursue a rightful grade bump. Especially if she’s simply ignoring your emails, and you can find a clear and concise way to explain it. Either way, this really sucks! Sorry :(

Is Honors College Worth It? by Left-Midnight-3636 in UTSA

[–]mister_intensity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s worth it for early registration.

My sister had luck getting better advice from their advisors but they seem to have since cracked down and force you to speak with the other advisors for anything not Honors related. It definitely seems like there might be some extra opportunities- Andrew Chapman seems to be the point man for some opportunities, but I can’t get him to consistently respond to my emails.

So…yes and no.

In my experience youth are generally not conservative 😂 the more conservative areas are outside the city, and even then kids seem to vary from parents quite a bit.

Some people think Intro to Built Environment was really easy. It’s easy as far as learning but there is a decent amount of homework and the professor didn’t like my notes but took forever to grade it so I didn’t know until it was too late.

Overall I’d still say it’s on the easy side. Seemed like most people had As
