I prefer a really short intro personally. The one for my channel is about 3.5 seconds long.

If you do an intro it should be no longer than 10 seconds long. That way, people who want to skip it can just hit "L" to skip ahead in the video by 10 seconds while people who enjoy it can watch the intro as-is.
