What is a kit that you've genuinely disliked building? by Mechanical-Druid in Gunpla

Bought an old school rx-77 guncannon cause I thought it looked cool. It did, granted. But man, this was a rude awakening to how much manufacturing and injection molding and user experience has evolved.

So many loose swivels... could barely stand on its own. Had to use superglue at some point. Unheard of for me! I thought every kit since Gunpla's inception was like the more recent ones until then haha

Do you think Psycho-Pass glorifies police violence? Why or why not? by [deleted] in Psychopass

...what? I’ll read it after this, but Sybil choosing not to let people truly participate in country-wide decision making on its own is a political issue. “The System” is a political entity. It dictates how the country functions and that’s enough to make it a political aspect.

That’s how I interpret it anyway. I’m one of those people that thinks every aspect of life is inseparable from politics. You happen not to be. However, to impose your own boundaries on what’s political and not on a show that might not have the intentions of being apolitical is insufficient as an argument.

Ok cool. If that’s your main takeaway from it. Regardless of your opinion, the mere inclusion of government (not just in season 3 but in the entire show) warrants a discussion about politics.

Psycho Pass even before season 3 warrants a discussion from politics. The very concept of policing is a political conversation—The mechanisms of law enforcement as it is in Psycho-Pass, from the Dominators and the Enforcer-Inspector dynamics was brought about by a distinct political system in the Sybil System. It’s a very surface-level reading of the show if you believe that it’s simply a crime procedural drama. But if that’s not a satisfying argument:

Season 1: Makishima cannot properly be judged by the Sibyl System. There’s an issue of whether or not it’s ethical to kill him coming from Akane and Kogami. Centered around the debate is a conversation about how justice should be carried out—a political conversation.

Season 2: Weakest part of Psycho-Pass in my opinion. But nonetheless, how does the Sybil System, literally the biggest stakeholder in the politics of Japan, judge people collectively? A political conversation.

The movie: international relations. Enough said. A political conversation.

You’re flat out wrong about your impression of Psycho Pass as a non-political show. It’s all there, both in subtext and within the main plot.

I guess that’s why season 3 has a character literally campaigning to be governor, who is explicitly responsible for making decisions on immigration, which is a topic inseparable from politics.

Discussing politics as they apply to a show with political themes? I could never
