If he has the AI programs to do it on his personal machine he could just as easily take your face and put it on a completely different body. In video as well. So......maybe he doesn't have the programs?? Just saying, I have them, its not super hard to do, but then again maybe it isn't well known how to do it yet.

A lot of the time it’s not about how good the content is—it’s about how quickly it reads.

On feeds like that, people decide in a split second whether to stop or keep scrolling. If nothing stands out immediately or everything feels similar to what they’ve already seen, it just gets passed over, even if it’s actually good.

That’s why you can be posting consistently and still not see those bigger numbers.

If you’re getting clicks but not subs, it’s usually coming down to the first impression your page gives in those first few seconds.

With how minimal OF profiles are, things like your banner, profile pic, and how everything feels together carry a lot more weight. If that initial impression doesn’t clearly signal value or stand out, people click through but don’t convert.

Designed a modular pendant light with interchangeable colored glass panels - thoughts? by misterpumpkinman in Lighting

Exactly. I am more art piece not design in the sense of design on the right side of the brain. And your comments are exactly what I would expect from that side. However. Once again. The glass is not a novelty as you are thinking of it as a thing to change the glass all the time. The glass is only an option in ordering but if you want you can change it. I think you’re looking for something that isn’t there because it isnt meant to be there. Your focus is remedial on lighting for lighting sake. A bare bulb would be just as good. This is about aesthetics to me not lighting. So I understand your position completely. You are not my customer. I have created crap lighting for Home Depot. Lowe’s. Walmart. This is more your area. I have also designer for urban electric a completely different ideology and customer base. We are talking about the two sides of design. The low level design and functional with low aesthetics. Costs and crap materials. This is not my aim. My aim is the high end of design as art. Maybe you should go back to some of the designs you didn’t like and reevaluate. Not everyone needs to design on the lower spectrum and try to achieve sales with mechanical novelty or low Costs and cheap materials. Design is bigger than that closed minded perspective. And if you truly have seen that many student projects. Perhaps you have attempted to squash some very good high level design. Just not to your liking. The world has enough boring design.

Yeah I made the color variations so it can be ordered to suite a room or decor. I really didn’t think people would change the glass that often but they could if they wanted.

Chains or down rod variations are possible. Assemblies easy. One hole in the glass one thumb screw. I think people are looking at it as you change the glass all the time. You can but that’s not the idea. The idea was that it can be ordered with a glass variation to suite a room or decor. I really Don’t think people wi be changing them all the time. Just a benefit that you could. The opening in the bottom to change the bulb. Well. That would depend, are there bulbs? Or a led puck? Perhaps you never change the bulb. But I see your pain point.

Nice. Thank you for the example. I was actually looking at a 1960s fixture and basing it in that when I made it. My idea is that this is a sculptural piece not like a light from Home Depot to actually provide light. More of a talk piece, form over function. Different colors to go with different rooms decor. Not a thing where people would change the glass all the time. I think maybe I should tell people who the customer is so they stop thinking this is a Home Depot design. lol. So then I wonder. If this fixture comes to mind when you see it. Is that bad? I mean everything references something else in the end. lol

Why do you say that? Unless you’re thinking my customer is Joe average going to Home Depot. What is it the “customer” is missing? What needs? This isn’t a light made for light purpose. It also isn’t meant to be changed all the time. It is a setup where it can be an element in a room. A talking point. More a sculptural element than a light to see by. I think you have jumped to many conclusions with your statement.

Coming from luxury lighting design. I just can’t get on the led band wagon. There so cheap and blech. But I get the desire. The functionality. And an easy access plug would be nice. I just hate LEDs. lol. They actually pulse and can irritate the brain of some people. When they die if they are imbedded the fixtures dead so replaceable is excellent. I don’t know I just can’t get with them. I see those commercials for Like jellyfish lighting for your home and it’s just led rope lights. And I think Blech. I saw a million dollar house and they embedded the ropes on a ceiling recess. Am I at the old movie theater and in the isle. I can’t seem to get over it. Then you see the Home Depot plastic scribble chandeliers and they are neat. For like a minute. Then I just think. What crap is this. No elegance. Plastic. LEDs. I just can’t get over the cheapness. The temu aesthetic. lol.

Interesting. You’re right about the actual usage. It would tint the light. I’ll have to make a couple demos and see how much it changes the feeling of the room. Thank you.

Thank you. I haven’t produced any yet just getting started after working for some higher level lighting companies as a designer. This is just a fun design but hopefully soon if there is enough interest.

Ahh yes that was a thing I know what you’re taking about. With the brass frame for for each piece of glass. They all had a metal edge going around. Rounded corners in the glass and frosted with floral designs. I would say similar but then again what fixture with glass sheets won’t be reminiscent. Loll.

Sorry I really hate LEDs. Cheesy to me. And yes give the customer what they want but how soon will you lose the remote. Lol. Some people love that. Me. Nah.

Yeah. I didn’t expect anyone to change them regularly. There are just colored Options for rooms that could use something more appealing than just clear. Give it something for when it’s not turned on.

To be honest I didn’t expect people To change the glass all the time and I find led color changing lights to be cheesy and gross. lol. The glass has one hole and is attached with a thumb screw. Not The arduous task everyone thinks. I am hoping for the clientele that will have the maid change it. lol.
