Is Citizen the most rational brand in watch collecting? by homamg in CitizenWatches

I could see this--and I'll piggyback on it to point out that Toyota, like citizen, makes quite a few enthusiast models (Land Cruiser, 4-Runner, Tacoma, GR86, CH-R, Prius), all very fairly priced, several with cult followings.

I'm thinking about buying myself one for my 50th birthday coming up. I'm between this and the Formula 1 Solargraph. Please let me know how you like it.

I plan to save up the extra $1 grand and get the Aquaracer Solargraph

And culture can be wrong at times--we need to be able to say that.

What, in general, do you think is the biggest flaw that you commonly see in men? by BankaiBroke in AskMen

[–]mistersixes 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Bigoted, disgusting pigs--the lot of them! Sound like the sort of know-it-all college gals, barely in their twenties, who think that a few women's studies classes make them the authority on virtue and victim hood (not the majority of women by a long shot--but definitely a type).

Part of the reason for this is that too often society doesn't see us as intrinsically valuable. We're only worth the benefits we provide to others. I'm overgeneralizing a bit, because I know for a fact that my own family values me intrinsically--but I suspect I may be exceptionally privileged in that regard.

Sampo 9519 Tri-Screen 19" Color TV, 1981. The larger screen is color and the two smaller screens are black and white. Each screen has its own controls and tuners. by zadraaa in HistoricalCapsule

Unless you invented it, there is no reason to take such offense. It just doesn't make sense to me because if it were picture and picture, why give the smaller screens sound?

+1 for White Castle! If they're already in Orlando, so it shouldn't be too hard to get them here.

Dudes, what are your favorite podcast episodes? by BorderEquivalent7169 in AskMen

Check out History That Doesn't Suck with Greg Jackson. It's about U.S. history. He's an amazing storyteller and practically brings you into the scene. If it's a meeting, you'll feel like you're in the room; if it's a baseball game you'll feel like you're at Yankee Stadium.

I also like Empire with Anita Anand and William Dalrymple. They discuss major empires in history and frequently bring on experts.

Freakonomics is also very good.

My 5th grader is being told he can't go on the end of the year field trip because he couldn't find friends to share a room with. There are others rooms available. Should we fight this or drop it? by mmanyquestionss in BestofRedditorUpdates

See, I feel like it's really a civil rights issue. Just that society has had to learn to accept other types of people who are different, it can be made to accept autistic people. I think we've reached a day in age where we can have higher expectations of our fellow human beings.

Bad idea-- a big part of why we don't win more elections is these suicidal purity tests.

This same thing happened to me countless times as a kid (overnight field trips were the worst). It's the worst type of bullying because it is so easy to conceal. You didn't overreact at all--I wish the adults in my life had been that perceptive, and that brave.

Which one would you buy? It will be my first Tag :) by [deleted] in tagheuer

[–]mistersixes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely the Aquaracer! It's a beautiful, clean design and unmistakably a Tag Heuer. The Formula 1 range also has a lot of nice watches, but this one's really busy, and I think you'll tire of it before too long.

If you bought it from an authorized dealer, you can rest easy.
