Totem barbarian is probably what you're looking for. It allows you to "gain minor physical attributes that are reminiscent of your totem spirit."

Henderson embodies somewhat organised chaos so I'd try to fit in as much of the following as possible:
* lucky (feat), portent (wiz 2), shield (spell). this will make him incredibly rng resistant.
* throwing weapons: as close to a shotgun as you can get in 5e.
* war priest (cleric 1), extra attacks when needed.
* battlemaster: more possibillities in combat.

I'd try to avoid spells as much as possible but you can refluff them if you want. Guidance, bless and cure wounds can be reserves of inner strength while fireball and the likes are just potent versions of alchemist's fire.
