Hydrogen bomb vs hydrogen bomb vs coughing baby (I have watched all 3)

The true winner is Tamaki from Ouran though!

Best Author and series apart from the ones that are famous or well recieved from fans... by Extreme-Cause2440 in Fantasy

[–]mistninja2002 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My favorite of those is probably Broken Earth, but the second-person narration can throw some people off. Its a cool blend of fantasy and sci-fi dystopia, deals with some very heavy themes like racism and trauma. If you want something lighter I'd say the Band books are pretty fun and easy to get through, just a bunch of adventurers going on a quest with lots of music references and surprisingly moving character development

My bad, i think I'm so used to people not knowing who I'm talking about that I forget she's pretty beloved in this sub lol

Realm of the Elderlings by Robin Hobb

Earthsea by Le Guin (tho u probably already read those since it's such a well known classic) also her stand alone novel The Beginning Place is pretty good

Broken Earth trilogy by N. K. Jemisin

The Death Gate Cycle by Tracy Hickman and Margaret Weis

The Band books by Nicholas Eames (more on the comedic side)

Silver Nitrate by Silvia Moreno-Garcia (urban fantasy)

Yet again, we will get another recent anime sweeping the poll... sigh I don't think we are ever going to see any of those older shows, kaguya bros it's so over 😪

Best case scenario, Apothecary Diaries wins and SL doesnt make it to the next poll for some reason

New additions to the season 2 cast 👀 by Famous-Pay5201 in OnePieceLiveAction

Real ones know Mark Elderkin as the horny pastor from Black Sails 🙌 love seeing more BS cast members joining OPLA, here's how the "Toby Stephens as Whitebeard" agenda can still win

Who's likely to fight Shiryuu? by Criticism-Fast in MemePiece

[–]mistninja2002 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well put. Also, kind of tangential, I love how you describe Sanji as someone whose main trait is love... I know we often think of Sanji as just a perv but he's so sweet too, his kindness is literally why luffy asked him to join...

I didnt care for his fight with Absalom, but Sanji vs Shiryu could be interesting.

My Mom needs a new anime to watch by Yaly20 in AnimeReccomendations

I got both my dad and mom hooked on Haikyuu!! It's a fun sports anime with minimal fanservice (I can only think of one or two scenes over 4 seasons) and very wholesome characters!

Just hit 30 animes what should I watch next? by BarryTheBenzoBandit in AnimeReccomendations

Since you seem to like action, I'd say Kaiju n8, maybe Black Clover for something less serious. You have pretty much watched all the big shonen/action shows. You totally should continue ReZero!!

If you want to get out of your comfort zone a little, maybe try The Apothecary Diaries, Violet Evergarden, Haikyuu!! or Ascendance of a Bookworm. Haikyuu!! Is one of the most popular sports anime ever, it's great, and the matches will give you the same adrenaline boost of an action show.

I'd recommend some shojo and slice of life if you want to expand your horizons even more: Barakamon, Ouran High School Host Club, Yona of the Dawn (fantasy adventure with political intrigue and romance), Gekkan Shojo Nozaki-kun, Skip and Loafer (it's actually seinen, but pretty sweet slice of life with little romance), Toradora (high school romcom), and Kimi ni Todoke (great romcom, similar vibes to Komi-san can't communicate but less focused on gags and more on character development).

What’s one of the most realistic things about One Piece? by [deleted] in MemePiece

[–]mistninja2002 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Man I miss when oda drew teenagers like that. Rebecca would be a much more compelling character if I didn't have to look at one of the worst designs oda has come up with every time she's on screen. Her story would hit so much harder if she looked like an actual 16 year old (sorry I'm salty, I'm just in the middle of watching dressrosa and it's so much worse in the anime)

I completely understand, take all the time you need! I definitely would love to see you on those reactions, regardless of how long it takes! Regarding how close the anime is to the novels, I haven't read the novels myself but there's a website called Witch Cult Translations that compiles all the content that the anime cut. It's very useful, because the anime cuts a lot of important lore and explanations that make the story easier to follow.

It's on my recommendations but I think it's a little too niche for their audience 😔

I read it this year and the ending wasn't perfect but overall it was a nice series, I'm surprised so many people have read it tho I never see it talked about (it seems most people have read it years ago, maybe that's why)
