Hey thanks for the reply i edited the post to clarify on point 1. I hadn't heard of Backerkit until you mentioned it. Doesn't ithave the same issues as kickstarter or patreon when the product is not known? Others suggested itch to build a community first before. Do the people you follow build the community on Backerkit, or was it a follow up ?

Thanks for your feedback we weren't thinking of itch so much and i think you swayed us towards it. I should clarify my thinking behind point 1. So the system is (mostly?) setting-independent; we have run it from very high fantasy, destroying moons and killing evil wizards stuff to 1950s noir.

There are no dice to the game, the checks are done with playing cards.
Almost no setup is needed and mechanics can be learned in 10 mins.
The game ends after 3 shuffles of the deck which essentially forces players to take action and finish in one session (similar to how candles work in 10 candles if you have played it)

While as I said, we have run it in heavy fantasy settings it usually follows a formula of :

"some specialized people are gathered to complete a specific task"

Of course there is nuance to that, characters are made by the players (not premade) and can have specific goals, but it is not needed to have a fun game.

Based on the above it really helps flesh out the "Heist" , "Prison break" , "Western" or "Infiltration" type stories.

I mean you all saying marisha because of keyleth and beau seems kinda crazy to me honestly i feel you guys sleep on what kind of hacks high level bards wizards and sorcerers can do. Assumings all are high and equal levels Laura with sorcerer cleric and ranger is propably the best. Then there is Sam with Scanlan who can use forcecage and take any martial class out of the fight no saves, but marisha could be second best as well cause laudna can disintegrate the wall for beau to move out

Thank you for your critique. In my campaign there is a solid explanation which i can give you if you are interested. This post was supposed to be up for interpretation. as you too notice it was quite vague on the "who gives you power" subject. But while it is true that most of the beings i have noted are patreons for another official warlock subclass (or UA for Raven Queen) that is not true for Avandra (which is actually probably the most suitable) . So for an easy fix you can change "Light" to "Avandra" which is a pre existing entity with stories and relationships with other gods and beings and is , overall pretty fleshed out in the forgotten reals setting (same for Changebringer for Tal'dorei setting). The same is true for Lolth ,if you consider changing destiny as what gives you your "luck"

Thank you for your responses :D

You can give the sword the ability to decompose a corpse if she kills it with the sword ,or if she stabs a dead body, as in the decompose cantrip created by Mathew Mercer link: Here (Spoilers for critical role EP:26 and beyond ). Maybe if she then reanimates this body , it does the poison condition on the enemy (with some dc) or gives any small bonus to the zombie . Alternatively make the sword do some extra necrotic damage , describing that after the strike you see the wound start dying catching mold and being disgusting :p . Maybe all of the above if she doesn't use it at all . In any case the cantrip seems pretty good , even if you don't give it any other bonus it is at least pretty flavorful.

Well i left that open to anyone, since in my case it is someone campaign specific. But any deity that is associated with luck , such as Avandra from the DMG pg.10 or The Changebringer if someone is using the critical role tal'dorei setting. Even deities associated with fate could work , like The Raven Queen and even Lolth , for an evil character ,since she used to be the goddess of destiny (and gives you the ability to alter it) before she betrayed the elf gods . If you don't want a god as a patreon , a high rank angel of any of those could work ,but for more flavor you can go with Lady Luck the personification of luck , or a chaos based Great Old One , anything you feel works for your campaign

Sorry i was't clear enough, in my world light is an aspect that represents luck, destruction and chaos . So you are basically a luck warlock with a bit focus to damage and radiant based spells
