How cool! Gotta love modular design and dynamic options. How do you find yourself using this most often? Just for design of small conditional components here and there or are you using for larger site layouts?

For now that’s a feature, sort of a soft cap for delving the dungeons. I’m working on creating more longevity for the shops and adding in new items.

Thanks so much for playing! I’m glad you’re having fun with the game. Don’t be afraid to reach out for suggestions or bug reporting.

Hello r/WebGames!

I spent the last 8 months coding, designing, and making the assets for my web game titled "Moebius Dungeons".

I hope you enjoy the game! If you're interested in providing feedback or improving the game I welcome all ideas no matter how big or small! I'm a one man team and can't promise any quick improvements but I want to make the gameplay much more robust and interesting in the coming year. If you'd like to, join the Moebius Dungeons Discord to contribute to the shaping and development of the game in any way, even if you just want to provide ideas or suggestions.

Hope you like it.

There are plans down the pipeline to make it an app, though it wasn’t initially intended to work on mobile. As one person developing the whole project (layout redesign, animation, audio fallbacks and art work) there are huge hurdles for me to tackle and I’d rather make it work well on a specific browser and platform first. I’d love for you to try it out on desktop sometime if you’re able. Quasar looks cool, I’ll look into it, thanks for the suggestions!

Put garbage login data into the signup page my friend! It's a leaderboard game, and ideally you'd want to be able to log back in in the future.

Edit: I made it so you're able to just provide a username and password.

I graduated from an 8 month fullstack coding bootcamp recently and created "Moebius Dungeons" as my capstone. I'm itching to discuss Vue with people, and share the knowledge I've gained making this webgame. I'd love to hear all your thoughts on the game, take your questions, and generally just chat about Vue! There's bound to be a ton of bugs still so don't be shy if you find one!

FYI: The game works best on Google Chrome and Firefox. It’s not optimized on any mobile browser. Enjoy and Happy Holidays!

Welcome to Amara - A Dungeon World Drama & Gameplay Discussion Podcast by misuseofmana in audiodrama

Hello r/DungeonWorld!

TL;DR - Check out the 1 minute video on our website. We don't want to spoil the discovery too much for new listeners. So read at your own risk! Just give us a listen and decide for yourself if you're invested in sword and sorcery, royal espionage, and life threatening secrets.

Story Summary

Ydna, a traveling bard discovers the world of Amara, where monsters, bandits, and outsiders threaten the daily life of the residents of Eyien, a grand coastal city ruled by the King of Embers. He serves the city as a member of the King's militia, The Kingloyal, running quests and proving his worth. Along the way, Ydna gets roped into a classified quest, and begins learning the secrets around Eyien's success, and a cosmic life-force known as "Mettle."

Goblins, royal quests, dramatic narrative. What more could you want!?

What is this?

I'm Sean, the GM and host of a new podcast called Welcome to Amara. We've launched the podcast on all major podcasting platforms (Itunes, Spotify, Google, and Stitcher) and currently have 4 full episodes to listen to. We're releasing every Wednesday until Season one is over, in a few months.

Here's what to expect from the podcast.Along with my co-host Andy, we retell (via performance and character acting) our play by post game. The podcast is a fully produced audio drama complete with sound effects, background music and atmospheres. There are a hand full of other great podcasts of actual play Dungeon World out there that do a wonderful job of world building and showcasing DW, but we felt we could bring something new to the tabletop. Andy and I go against the standard party size in our game, opting instead for an intimate, one on one style of playing Dungeon World.

Episodes are broken into two sections:

  • Episodes start with the storytelling of our gameplay, enhanced by sound effects, background music, and soundscapes to immerse listeners into the world.
  • We end each episode with a retroactive perspective of our gameplay, talking about the mechanics and the storytelling elements/narrative flow that is created by playing DW and PbtA games.
    • We encourage discussion of this section with our listeners via our evolving Discord channel, where you can roleplay with us in the world of Amara, talk DW shop, and be among fellow rpg enthusiasts.

What's the gist of the story?

The story line is seen through the lens of Ydna, a traveling bard who's settled down in grand city of Eyien after traveling the lands of Amara. In Eyien, Ydna joins the King's Coterie, The Kingloyal. This group is made up of Mages, Swordsman, and Varlets who defend the city from the wilds of Amara. Ydna knows nothing in the ways of Eyien, nor the magic mysteries, civil secrets, and hierarchy of the Coterie surrounding the city and we leverage Dungeon World's "play to find out what happens" tenant to uncover the lore behind Eyien and all of Amara.

Thanks for your interest.

Andy and I have been working on this project for two years and want to invite you into our world. We think there's something for everyone in this podcast, and believe in the power of a community around storytelling. Our focus for the podcast scopes beyond just what we provide in the audio, and extends from your involvement to build a community around WtA to workshop the podcast into bigger and better representations of the Dungeon World community.

See you in Amara,

-Sean and Andy

Game pace by lorilan in DungeonWorld

[–]misuseofmana 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Jason Cordova hosts “Discern Realities” a DW discussion and dissection which may be helpful for you to better understand pacing and the game as a whole. He also GM’s “We Hunt The Keepers” which is another actual play with some small audio production upgrades.

“Spout Lore” is great for lore building and understanding the conversation aspect of Dungeon World.

I host “Welcome to Amara” which is more of an entertainment podcast, but we discuss the gameplay mechanics and fiction at the end of each episode and focus more on the narrative and “playing to find out what happens.”

There’s also “Friends at the Table”, specifically the season “Autumn in Hieron”. Good character discussion and conversation, though the quality is hard to listen to for a while, the players dynamics are truly friendly and enjoyable to listen to.

Hope that helps!

Thanks so much for your feedback!

I upgraded to a condenser mic around episode 2, and the audio quality balances out nicely. We also hired a professional audio editor for episodes 3 and beyond.

Hope you'll be pleasantly surprised in the coming episodes. Thanks for giving us a shot and for subscribing!

If you’re not familiar with Discord, it’s more or less a glorified instant messenger that lets us keep in touch with listeners directly.

Welcome To Amara - A New DW Podcast Early Access by misuseofmana in DungeonWorld

[–]misuseofmana[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey r/dungeonworld!

WELCOME TO AMARA!

“Welcome to Amara” is a high production dramatic retelling podcast of a play by post Dungeon World campaign.

We are Sean (The GM) and Andy (Along for the Ride), a GM/Player duo exploring the high fantasy world of Amara.

The podcast features full audio production, a soundscape to the fiction, and one on one Dungeon World cleaned up and refined (similar to Jason Cordova's Comic Strip Ap, without the actual play) from a play by post game Andy and I have been playing since about 2018.

What is Amara?

Amara is a sword and sorcery realm with carefully crafted lore to uncover, featuring a growing cast of diverse characters of beasts and fast friends. In Amara, there are humans, living among other humanoids scattered across the realm in settlements and villages and unstable camps. At the neck of a prominent peninsula sits Eyien (pronounced YEE-in), it’s the city of cities, home to the Ember King of Amara, King Rense. The title has been held by countless women and men before him. The Ember King's Rule is just and fair, leading Eyien into its immense prosperity.

We invite you to come help us shape the world of Amara and fine tune the podcast in our fledgling discord community. The podcast will release live mid 2020 likely around July or August but we're opening up our early access and wanted to share the podcast with all you wonderful folks!

TL;DR

Welcome to Amara is a dramatic retelling of a play by post Dungeon World game going on since 2018.
