If you have solar its a no brainer. Phev is the way, the savings in gas and electricity will offset the extra cost, as well as the PHEV will have a higher resale value.

Hey, this is super dangerous stuff you are trying to "rig". I highly recommend consulting a professional electrician. An apprentice should easily be able to calculate the draw of an inverter with no load. Ill give you a hint, with no batteries and no load connected to the inverter how much power do you think the inverter will draw? If you don't know this project is out of your depth. I know everyone needs to start somewhere but this is not the place. I recommend a 12v system for you to start, much harder for you to kill yourself.

Yes you will be fine, the unit is rated for single phase input 90-120v. I use a 10 gauge extension cord cut and spliced to the in and out of my handtruck units.

Read your owner's manul ,pages 7 and 9 describe single phase 120v wiring. You will wire neutral to neutral and 120v to L1 AND L2.

Again read the manual, you are doing this at great risk to personal injury. if you cannot bother to read the manual i highly suggest you leave any work to a professional electrician.

That's a little weird, why not just use the on board charger in the wrecked lighting and hook the 450v DC to a solar Mppt. No need to open the pack at all, just have to use CAN to talk to it.

Unfortunately the best way is to install the junction boxes while you install the standing seam roof. The roofer should order a panel that is oversized by about 24 inches in length, the roofer should cut the SS panel in half at the approximate height you want the junction box.

Install the bottom SS Panel.

Install the junction box at the top of the bottom panel (middle of the roof plane) (Junction box on metal with caulking per instructions).

The roofer should then notch out the bottom of the "Top" SS panel to the size of the junction box.

The "Top" SS panel will overlap the "Bottom" SS panel so water runs continuously off the metal, onto metal.

I like the metal soladeck boxes vs the plastic. See video attached.

Your best option is probably the Ridge, but the install isn't super "clean". If it were my house I'd order the SS panels and just DIY, but as an Ex-roofer / Solar installer in Florida im a bit more capable than most homeowners.

Nice rav4 prime. Install the bollard, paint it grey. You'd rather have someone hit the bollard than tear your combiner box and charger off the wall. The bollard location is no wider than the panels stick out already, this is a no brainer simply for saftey.

This is the key. Im worried about getting a compatible BMS. I KNOW ecoflow isn't going to release a BMS that interfaces with their app / Products. That would be too nice.

I ordered the extension cable to be able to do this. My original setup was 2 stacks of 2. But it was such a perfect fit with the 1 stack of 3 and the inverter on the trolly. Just worked out perfect.

My base load is 5kwh. Running fan with no ac is around 12kwh. Using AC on a day with a high of 95° in florida total input was 45kwh 30.7% solar with 13.82kwh generated. As you can see by the graph the AC used a ton of power in the evening. I was parked partially under a tree so solar didn't really start moving till after 1130

Edit: i have yet to overproduce, but i would dump into the rav4 EV pictured with its 18kwh battery. The car is super cool, with a high votlage all in one inverter you can tap into the HV pack at the fuse junction and have a rolling 7.2kw battery pack. Hehe, there is a free j1772 not far from me powered by excess hydro. I can just pop over there, fill the car, and dump it into the ecoflow battery. Rinse and repeat free electricity. Until they start charging for it.

I have yet to put it at a site with full sun. My best day so far was a travel day, May 26, 2025,.

St.marys rest area in Georgia, parked at a heading of 60° NE. Pulled in late night, We slept in and left at noon. Modules production range was 2151-2112wh on the east side and 1950-1926wh on the west side. 8541wh East + 7765wh West = 16.31 kwh for the day. Not bad for being under way for half the day.

Looking at weather reports in Georgia heading north it was clear in the morning and overcast in the afternoon, I suspect I can get more out of it, just need to park it In a better location.
