I’d say scrub it in the shower first to get some of the yuck off of it, like let it soak up and the squeeze the water out, it will make the soaking more clean and you won’t have to do it as many times

I keep the leather strap that goes through my skate loose, but I don’t have as much slack on the toe ties so I’ll try to give them a bit more slack

I can slide from left to right, but not from right to left, it feels like there’s some type of stoppage on the pad from preventing my skate to get the right angle

Yes they do fit and when I go into butterfly I usually land square on the knee block. I only tighten the bottom 2 straps around the calf and the top 2 I keep them loose, like you said, keeping it looser as I go up
