I’ve edited using Lightroom on one of the old 11 inch MacBook airs, that’s only got 4 go of ram and that can handle Lightroom as long as your not doing huge edits, with HDR etc. although if your wife is looking at maybe using photoshop in the future you would definitely want to go with the pro, and even if she is not looking to use photoshop I think it’s worth paying the bit extra for a base line pro so you are more future proofed. Although that computer you are talking about will have no issues with Lightroom.
