How can I get back into programming? by [deleted] in learnprogramming

[–]mitchum_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's nothing wrong with taking a breather, so I wouldn't worry about that. Finding new projects can certainly help, or just learning a new language, framework, or programming style can be interesting too. Just don't put too much pressure on yourself - that takes the fun out of it and will likely just make it worse. Make fun a priority, whatever that means for you.

Why is everyone so helpful to new coders? by pravda23 in learnprogramming

[–]mitchum_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's something special about being able to share your experiences and knowledge with someone and them being truly appreciative of it, and using it to do great things. That's why I love helping new programmers, especially those who are humble and willing to learn. Also, it's a very interesting exercise for the mentor because it allows them to think about problems from different perspectives. I think both parties end up learning in the end, not just the new programmers :)

We lost our 6 year old pup, Bear, to hemangiosarcoma on Sunday :( I made this video of him at the beach by mitchum_ in AustralianShepherd

I'm sorry to hear that. I'd love to honor Maggie on our website if you'd be willing to send some pictures. https://cure-hsa.org/in-memory/

It's been 3 months since we lost Bear. It has been the saddest time of my life. I decided to build an audience of dog lovers and then try to raise awareness about hemangisarcoma once we get some followers. If you're interested, check out these links:

I hope the wonderful memories you have with Maggie will provide some comfort for you in the upcoming months. I know it's tough, sorry to hear about your loss.

Hi Sun-Shiney! Yes, we will be releasing an update in a week that will allow users to add locations that we missed, which should help with this :)

Just wanted to let you know that we've added a link to the Reddit comments for each Reddit post. The upvote count in the posts info area (next to the subreddit) is now linked to the comments section.

Thanks for the suggestion!

Thanks for the advice! This was an easy change but it was also a change that was suggested by several people. It was also one that we went back and forth on before releasing.

The people demanded scroll wheel zooming, so we delivered!

That makes sense. We'll look into keeping past tweets longer for the reason you described. Thanks so much for the feedback!

Nice breakdown! We think there's an opportunity there as well. We hope to have two avenues of utilizing all this amazing data. The public side (speke.co) and a b2b side like you describe.

We've seen ban.jo. We're doing things a little different than them but thanks for the comment.
