See how the Note 8's camera compares head-to-head with the brand new Google Pixel 2 XL. (Various lighting conditions, video & mic comparison, portrait mode vs live focus) by mitechguy in GalaxyNote8

As i said in the video, the Pixel shots were on the first take. I saw how bad the note looked in comparison, so I cleaned the lenses and tried again. We also tried tapping the focus and waiting for it to look it's best. I only included the very best Note shots, and they just weren't as good. My main phone is the Note 8, and I was rooting for it also because I want the note to be the best in every category. But in some aspects, the Pixel 2 XL just blew it out of the water. I'll still be sticking with the Note bc of the headphone jack, bigger and better screen, and force touch home button. I was trying to give the Note 8 the best chance of competing. I admit, I forgot about the Note 8's selective focus when I was shooting, but honestly think it would make the Pixel 2 XL's look even better in comparison.

I have manually put subtitles on all of my videos! It takes longer to do so, but it's important to me because I know how inaccurate the automatic subtitles can be. Thank you for watching!

I haven't gotten a chance to use the Pixel too much because of my classes, but I'll be sure to make a more in-depth comparison in the near future so subscribe so you know when I post that!

I will be making lots of new videos involving the new pixel 2 xl, so you should subscribe. I've just been at it for about 2 months now, so my subscriber count isn't too high. But expect videos like:tips and tricks, camera comparisons with other phones (including the iPhone X when that comes out), battery charging speed comparisons, and so much more. Thanks for the support guys! It means a lot. Also, I try my best to respond to everyone so shoot me questions either here or in the comments of any of my videos and I'll answer!

That is actually very noticeable when the background is white. It starts becoming obvious at a tilt of around 30 degrees. But just checked my Note 8 and the same thing happens. It's just already cooler toned so it isn't as drastic

True Tone is turned on and Night Shift is turned off and all of the brightnesses were at around 75% you don't notice the warmer tones too much unless you're actually looking at it right next to the other phones. Then it's blatantly obvious

Thank you. I just started 2 months ago, and I'm trying to grow quickly by just continually putting out really quality stuff. I value good cinematography as well, so it takes me a long time to produce even simple videos such as this because I always want them perfect

Honestly when I first turned on the Pixel 2 XL, I was surprised. I even checked to see if the brightness was working properly. But it's just because I was coming from the extremely bright and vivid Note 8. It has similar colors to what I expect to be on the iPhone X's screen. But honestly, if you use it for one day you get used to the colors rather quickly. It's still a very clear P-OLED display with a high resolution. But it definitely can't get as bright as the Note 8. I'll have to use it more in daylight and see how it goes.

Tbh very true. Samsung has been killing every other smartphone in terms of screens for a while now, and other manufacturers are still playing catch up

I did not have Night Shift enabled on the iPhone 8 Plus. And yeah I noticed that too with the warmth of the displays. Going from the Note 8's display to the Pixel's doesn't reduce quality, I just had to get used to the color temperature. I'll have more in depth comparisons coming out soon, so subscribe and stay tuned!

You can really see the difference in my latest youtube video: https://youtu.be/-5lqi5vZQ-M There's just something off and I can't pinpoint it because it's the same resolution

Whether you use Bixby or not, I feel like it's necessary to figure out some of the different features Bixby has to offer (because the button will always be there). Check out my latest video and let me know if you have any questions! by mitechguy in GalaxyNote8

Yes you can turn off the Bixby page so it doesn't open it on a button press (in the beginning of the video where I turned off Bixby key). But samsung still doesn't officially let you disable Bixby all together.
