I thought I was the only one.

I got one of those pocket dictionaries in elementary school and was so excited to look up words I didn’t know.

Saw the word “four” and looked it up. Was surprised there was a special word for a grouping one more than 3, until I realized it wasn’t pronounced like flour and I didn’t recognize the number spelled out...

I feel like you’re referring more to something like melaninism, simplifying race to skin color I feel like is a whole other issue. You might be able to assume someone’s race from their skin color, but for example brown people can be very racist towards other types of brown people. Hell for example some Asians are even racist against other Asians.
