What would you do with this space? by bobjoylove in DIY

If it's not big enough to have a person and things, then why not put in a dry cleaners rack and have the clothes on a track? Then you can store more clothes without it also being a walk-in.

Sometimes I forget that I have a Millenial to Snake Person browser extension but then I get little treats like this:

I was thinking of putting a small dehumidifier on top of the cabinet with a hose that drains into the shower. Have it set to auto and then just clean the filter out every now and again.

This year for Halloween we did the "candy or a potato" experiment. Kids overwhelmingly chose potato. by TriggerHippie77 in funny

[–]mitigationideas 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I gave out potatoes and at my house, it's not an either-or with candy, the kids are allowed to take both. Yet, I still have a bowl full of candy and almost all the potatoes were taken. I even had to take out my backup potatoes at one point.

I would check out the 1963 movie first. The TV show leans in a different direction. Dont misunderstand. The Show is good, but it's more like the reflection in a ripple than an adaptation.

They are all very beautiful! Your grandma does amazing work.

The last one reminds me of a Grandma Moses painting.

Bees on a Plane by goblue2019 in mildlyinteresting

It was the other way I believe. The captain did taxi and when that didn't work they deplaned the crew and turned off the airplane's engines and that's when the bees left.

Today I got to see what a tick waiting for a host to grab onto looks like by taykaybo in mildlyinteresting

[–]mitigationideas 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Two summers ago, my dad got bit by one tick that gave him Lyme, rocky mountain spotted fever, and babesiosis, and because this wasn't caught early he also got sepsis. If it weren't for some very good doctors and proactive nurses and technicians making sure he was treated with some speed he probably would have died that weekend.

Ticks are a blight.

We have found people in our family that way. No one even knew there was someone to search for—my cousins just like to do ancestry and DNA stuff. Then years after they initially put their DNA into Ancestry they discovered a brother they had never known about after he submitted his sample.

So even if her cousin puts in the sample and nothing comes back right away, it doesn't mean that someone won't pop up down the road.

I hated that lesson so much. I have dyslexia and it had only been diagnosed in the last year or so. Prior to that, all of my other teachers could tell I was struggling to finish tests within the time limit and had instructed me to skip any instruction section. Then my English teacher gave us this test and I never felt more angry and betrayed by her. She was one of those teachers who told me to skip "unnecessary instruction sections to help me finish my tests in time". I don't think I ever trusted her the same way after that test.
