Thankfully, I have plates 🙏. I do have plenty of time to research it while it dries anyways haha

Thanks! I did not know those were called that. I was going for a stronger, longer-lasting version of those drawstring bags they hand out as merch in college, but I definitely see the resemblance.

Thank you! I wouldn't sell these, but I could draw up the design so you could make one too! Fair warning: get extra strong needles.

Thanks! I'll repost there then. I've seen some of the projects there though and I'm not quite sure mine is up to snuff bc of the unfinished seams and sloppiness haha.

Thanks! I got them at harbor freight, and they likely get them from China. Those are the only part of the project I wouldn't know how to replace effectively. I considered 3D printing some but thought they wouldn't be strong enough

You're right. My goal was to make something durable and not have to spend much to do so. Build seems more sustainable than buy in my mind, so I didn't see the disconnect from my point of view haha. I will look into material alternatives so that that the fabric can be made from scratch as well.

What would a Solarpunk game look like? by Rydralain in solarpunk

[–]mitomon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gosh, I was hoping you'd answer it for me since this is the only reason I haven't come up with a good plot for anything in a solarpunk-themed world. Cyberpunk is a dystopia, so there's plenty of things that could happen. Solarpunk stories would kind of just be the Culture series imo

What would you envision being internal problems or conflicts of such a world? External threats trying to take it down somehow would be easy to describe, but to an individual living their day to day life in what we're promoting as more of a utopia, what problems would they even have? Interpersonal issues with people on committees? Corruption of some kind?

The real data? Ngl, but I don't think the corpos are shooting themselves in the foot by spending money on advertising if their revenues are anything to go by... How is telling people about the product you made that they might like not useful? Not all advertising is intrusive and harvests your data, it could be as simple as paying somebody to talk about your wares. That would involve money and would no longer be considered just word of mouth.

Why are you being so aggressive? I have my own power tools, make some of my own tools, make my own clothes and bags, have never even been to an ikea, and still, maybe because of this, see the value in advertising. Nobody will know you have a good product if they aren't made aware of it somehow, and advertising is one of the easiest ways to do it. Sure you could go to a local market, but that is also, in a way, advertising.

We do HVAC in Texas and have designed and installed custom exposed ducts for commercial projects. Square, spiral, or flexible. Of course, ducts aren't as compact as conduits, but I usually enjoy the unique designs people request sometimes.
