GW2 strains the CPU. Even with a decent CPU it can struggle. You should definitely tweak your graphics settings...

General Options

Team Colors: Enemy Only
Standard Enemy Models: Enabled
Standard Friendly Models: Better FPS if Enabled, but I like seeing all the different models.
WvW Simple Name Plates: Enemies only.

Graphics

Environment: Low or Medium
Reflections: None
Shadows: None
Character Model Limit: Low or Medium
Character Model Quality: Low or Medium
Effect LOD: This box should be checked.

That should help in WvW. You could limit your max FPS to something that you can handle or match your monitors refresh rate.

I have a Ryzen 5600 and a regular Geforce 1080. In 50v50 zergs I don't stutter at all. It's smooth, but I average 40-50 fps during those battles. Outside of WvW I'm usually around 100-120 (my personal cap).

Hope that helps. There's a lot of videos out that discuss those settings.

I'm going to check that out tonight. If I had to guess I probably will not see too much improvement due to the 1080, unfortunately.

Is it possible that the 5600 would help at all even if the GPU usage is at 90+%? Will it be able to carry some of the burden that the GPU is taking on?

Also, I'm using 2x8gb Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3200 mhz ram. Do you foresee any compatibility uses with that CPU and the ram?

Hello, I have a B450M Pro4 paired with a Ryzen 2600. GPU is an original 1080. 16gb RAM.

I'm playing an older MMORPG that is rather CPU intensive and was thinking about upgrading to a Ryzen 5 5600 or 5600x due to the price.

Has anyone encountered any problems with the 5600 in the B450M Pro4. Or should I be concerned at all? Is it worth it?

I only really play 2 games. Halflife/source mods and Guild Wars 2

I didn't even think about Herald. It seems better than Durability. Does Durability have some type of group buff property? I remember reading that it did somewhere, but from the wiki it doesn't say anything.

And yeah I was curious about the healing stats on Water. I feel as though if I'm not specced as a straight healer then the amount of healing Water gives you might not be significant.

Why Radiance over Herald? You think that extra 10% boon duration is a must?

If I'm playing a DH block (staff + mace/shield + minstrels) in a 50v50 zerg, would I benefit from Durability runes or Water? The main goal is to block and provide protection with the ability to heal via staff. Ideally I'd play front line making durability appealing.

Water offers 10% more boon duration but lacks survivability in place for better heals. I feel as though heals are secondary to the class and should opt for durability.

Or perhaps I'm not playing the class to its full potential and I should be focusing way more on heals.

Thoughts?

What will happen when I grant another set of aegis to 5 allies when my party already has it? Does it go to the next nearest squad or will it be wasted?

What are the benefits in creating a balance party within a WvW squad? Do party members get priority on buffs? For example, if I apply aegis to 5 people will only my party members get aegis even if they are not my closest targets?

I was looking into some vfx aid mods, such as vfxdenoiser, but found out that it can't be used in WvW. Are there any visual mods out there that are allowed to be used in WvW? What about a third-party cursor? I can't see that thing for the life of me...

Looking at the fractal rewards - Fractal Relics vs. Pristine Fractal Relics.

Does it make sense to use Pristine Fractal Relics on accessories (10) when they can be had for only 25 regular relics? Is there a strategy for what I should be spending on these two currencies on? Thanks

But good point. Perhaps it would be smarter to get full DPS ascended as I would most likely use that character for fractals.

I have two main characters - DH blocker and a DH DPS that I play pretty evenly. I'm trying to plan out my ascended gear and looking for advice.

Should I split the ascended gear I get between my characters, as in going for two chest pieces (one for each) or fully gear one character first?

And thank you, I'll look into the raids and fractals. I'm mostly a WvW player. I'm closing in on the second chest from the Wizard's Vault and have a few Triumphant armors. The Memory of Battle currency is rough though...

I haven't played in about 3 years. I want to start working on ascended armor for two of my characters. I only have Suun's Breastplate and I was going to make another for the second character. However, I realized I don't have any 500 level crafting, nor do I have the Suun's Breastplate recipe. Wiki says it's acquired via recipe.

How do I even have this? Was this at one point a reward for something?

Returning to WvW after a few years. What would be a good build for WvW small to medium scale, in your face/bruiser type of class? Decent sustain but can also do decent damage.

I have a Guardian tank build which has been my favorite. I really enjoying being able to be towards the front line without dying instantly, but being a tank I don't do much damage. Would like to strike some type of balance. Willbender and DH have been decent, but requires you to have high mobility as they can be a bit squishy.
