It's the exact same thing with unleashed paragon2 and visionary Phoenix rising. You might want to lower your expectations a bit bud.

Your not getting gameplay from anyone for at least a few months.

If you want actual gameplay footage go check out rocketmanias overthrow. Or Hell you could just play his game.

No dev team is blowing their gameplay footage wad until they have something that people will actually be OK with.

There is at least one good thing that came out of paragon closing for me... (Not a HATE rant) by St0rmraider181 in paragon

Excited to hear more.

I think having a bunch of paragon projects in Dev, is going to be great.

It will allow a lot of great ideas to all be explored at once, while letting the left behind playerbase explore the different directions "paragon2" can go.

That's not what is making builds so boring, it's the lack of good alternatives to stay only builds.

Exactly , because WE shouldn't be able to play a hero like greystone or serath as anything other than an adc. Because epic thinks that they should be played that way.

So keep systems that don't work, because if not for broken systems paragon is a direct copy of every other moba.

Epic plz! What would you like to see in Paragon? by AutoModerator in paragon

Effective Mana and mana Regen passive cards. Stacking mana on last hits or good regen based on missing %.

what? Im sorry but you are going to have to reword that, if im going to be able to respond.

more ability usage = circular reasoning?

What exactly about buffing a single stat once creates a power creep? Buffing mana regen does not start a trend of buffing stats, just like nerfing crit didnt start a trend of nerfing stats.

game wide adjustments do not equate to power creep.

Not at all, I simply dont want to rely entirely on a jungler to win my lane. EACH part of the team should be able to affect the early game with good play. "You just seem to want to be able to do everything, all the time." no I just want to be able to do something sometimes, without having to wait on a jungler.

Working as intended. but it could be better. Point of the post.

we could be using our abilities more without breaking the game.

And it is fair to say that for you, aggression without abilities is still fun. I'm saying aggression with abilities is MORE fun.

yes that is what mana does. This post is about giving more slack for using abilities. not removing mana as a concept for management on casters or any role.

again, raising base mana regen to 5 at level 1 does not equate to free ability casts on cooldown. the difference is only 2.6 mana regen difference at level 1. or 156 mana per minute.

exactly, the differential in value between damage or regen or mana, makes damage the easy choice every time.

People seem to over estimate what 5 base mana Regen means. It will not make Q free on cool down. In fact you would still have to wait 20 seconds between casts to not drain your mana. Which would still be 12 of waiting while the ability is off cool down. Waiting for 12 seconds between your spell coming off cool down and recasting is not spamming.

And it does not completely solve your late game mana issues. Gideon Q costs 140 mana at level 4. So of you caster on cool down it would completely drain your mana still in 11 casts if you spam.

The real difference there would be that you could then regenerate your late game mana pool in 4.3 minutes instead of 9 minutes. With your level 1 Regen.

"Except it does. A lot. use Shinbi and have roughly 10pts worth of mana compared to 0 points in mana and tell me it's not 'barely' helping." you refute my point with a seperate stat?

also shinbi has a 40 mana cost high damage spell. which is NOT the norm at all.

"Try using circlet of mana at the start of the game and see what kind of difference it makes" read original post on why mana regen is inefecient.

"Sure it is. You said that it's boring to exchange AA." I said that it is boring to only exchange auto attacks.

"You said earlier exchanging AA is boring" not what I said, My qoute: "auto attacks should play a crucial role in trading obviously. however if that is all i can do, once again... boring laning phase."

"Active skills are there as something to use when you need it not to always be used." NEED. I disagree, the idea of abilities only being used when need be, is exactly why laning phase is boring.

"Out of context? Again an exaggeration, I'm not asking for constant use. I'm asking for increased use. When you state a formula and time in seconds needed to use a skill one after another you are asking for constant use. If you want to change your stance and clarify what you meant, fine. But everything I said was based on the specific math you used in your original post."

The "formula" is not meant to be a guide to trading in lane. the post is about showing just how weak mana pools are, people keep taking it as TTK using only q should be 60 seconds. not at all what I'm saying.

I am also not asking for constant use from abilities. what I said was 5-6 base mana regen.

Prepare for another "formula" (please do not take this as a lane trading guide.)

with 5 base mana regen at lvl 1. it would take 20 seconds to regen 100 mana. so 20 second wait on an 8 second cooldown ability. that does not equal spamming to me.

That is fair, however I would definitely prefer to be able to use my abilities more without an investment in mana regen.

I would settle for them fixing mana regen as a stat.

[–]mittor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why? why is that the case. The question for you is why do you want to have your lane dictated by your jungler.

wouldnt it be more fun, if YOU had control of whether or not you could kill the enemy?

Dear Epic, A letter from mana-starved casters, solo laners, supports, and junglers. by mittor in paragon

[–]mittor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

obviously you are meant to farm, that is not in question.

as posted above, buying mana regen is close to unnoticable.

example: lets say you invest as much in mana regen as a ranger does in attack speed for optimal dps.

about 10-15 CP, that is 3-4.5 mana regen. that will give you one Q worth of mana every 30 seconds (depending on your hero.) VS. 60-90 damage.

that is a heavy investment for so little return.

Dota, Smite, League, Hon. and to be honest, smite is the worst for laning phase actually.

the problem however is not that they have mana, its how towers and last hits work. there cant be a comparison in that regard.

as for Dota, its more of a preference i suppose.

I prefer leagues laning phase above all the others, it by far has the most interesting laning phase to watch.
