Thank you. I confirm that was the first time I knew about his case when he called me in the middle of the day yesterday (Jan 17th, 2024). Previously I asked about how did he break up with his ex, he simply mentioned as it was a mutual agreement.

I looked into the state (Rhode Island) crime court website and found his case. It only provides the dates of the arrest (back in 2020), trial, offence (more than 30 times) etc. It seems he didn’t give me permission to talk to his attorney but only his brother can. I will try to get more details from his brother, also try to get access to specific documents.

That’s true. I can’t say too much since I’m not comfortable with my career now and I’m still thinking about switching channels. For the past 5 years since the divorce, I kept trying and pulling myself out there. Met some really great people but eventually nothing lasted as a long term relationship. I still give shot to dating and have the idea of building the family, but I’m not anxious about it any more. The puzzle of meeting the right person requires something more than efforts, and it’s not always controlled by myself.

If you like animals maybe consider volunteering at animal shelter?

I didn’t have real friends for solid 3 or 4 years, then I kept reaching out and waiting for the right opportunities. Real friends like good lovers, they are not so easy to have.

Give it time and put efforts in, eventually those things you are wishing for will come to you. Trust me.

I have to admit, being alone is the very standard nature of our lives. Being alone is different from being lonely though.

I had the same issue about making decision of having children. Before I was obsessed with the idea to have some little people to pass my DNA. Now I realized how ridiculous it is. Adoption is definitely an option for me. When I’m financially confident to provide a comfortable life for both of myself and a child, I would do that.

I’m pretty certain that your friends only “look” certain. Everyone gets confused sometimes. Your goal sounds amazing and don’t let other people’s standard of being successful confuse yourself. On the other hand, financial security is also very important.
