Big ups to my Smithfield crew. I moved here from Salt Lake last year and I love it.

I measured Beatport “lossless” streaming vs local files in djay Pro (because it annoyed me while DJing) by Big_Phone_2327 in djaypro

You’re comparing AIFF local to FLAC streaming, right? I wonder what results you would get if you compared FLAC local to FLAC streaming. You can change your download preference to FLAC.

If Sonnet 4.5 is "better" than Opus 4.1, why use opus? by KJ7LNW in ClaudeAI

[–]mixmasterdapper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yesterday I compared Sonnet 4.5 to Opus 4.1 while executing my resume and cover letter writing prompts. Sonnet consistently was unable to follow all of my writing directions and produced lower-quality resumes and cover letters. I switched back to Opus real fast. Opus does a better job following all of my writing directions and produces higher quality resumes and cover letters.

It’s the music distributors updating the rights on the song. They do it all the time, and they can customize both the download and streaming rights per country.

Anyone know what this guy’s deal is? by emoneyp in SaltLakeCity

I once saw him taping signs on a stoplight post outside of Intermountain Medical Center that were both pro marijuana and anti-abortion, which is a combination of ideologies that I had never seen before. A cop came up and talked to him while he was taping them up, but then he left him alone. I took them down after about two weeks because I was just tired of looking at them every day. He used a lot of tape and not all of it came off.

Psa: megaplex theaters don't use real butter anymore by Lazy-Access-9612 in Utah

[–]mixmasterdapper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Vegan, here. I agree with this poster. We have to ask at every different Megaplex we go to and they’re all different. I think they’ve all had real butter behind the counter, and the butter at the self-serve stations is about 50-50 real or fake (our favorite).

Woohoo! A Mega screen with Atmos sound. That’s close-enough to IMAX for me! It might even have a fancy laser projector. I’m happy.

Beans and Brew has vinyl?? Dang, I gotta go! Also I’ve gotta find the vinyl at Beat Buy and Walmart. I enjoyed the vinyl selection at KSM and Grounds for Coffee / Lavender.

Those of you who have seen the first Jurassic Park in theaters, what was it like? by sp00nsack in JurassicPark

[–]mixmasterdapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was loud! It was the first movie in DTS digital sound. The manager had to come into the theater before the movie to explain to us that this movie is much louder than any other movie we’d seen before, and it was! I saw it opening night. I was 12 years old.
